Waking up the morning of the Yule Ball, Genevive couldn't help but embrace the smile that adorned her face as the sunlight crept in through her window. Still in bed, she sat up a bit, brushing the hair out of her face, thinking of how wonderful tonight would be. Humming, Genevive created a melody, adding some words as she thought about the day ahead,"

"Isn't it lovely, waking up, knowing there's someone waiting for you to come through the door, "

"Amn't I lucky, lying here, waiting to be there in his arms tonight,"

"I've never felt this way, I don't know what to do or what to say, it feels so unreal."

"But when I get down there, he'll see me smiling, all my fears will melt away as the curtain drops,"

"As I walk on down, down the staircase, he'll be there, waiting to take my hand, and keep me safe, "

"Dancing in each other's embrace."

Getting up out of bed, Genevieve grabbed her wand off the side table and with a quick and precise flick, her bed was neatly made. Ah, the wonders of magic.

Since almost everyone would be up getting ready for the grand ball, meals in the great hall were cancelled as the staff decorated it for tonight. Instead, meals were delivered to student and staff quarters, courtesy of the house-elves.

Genevieve sat comfortably in her bay window, teacup in hand, watching nature unfold itself outside her window, birds chirping- the usual outside noises. However, what she wasn't expecting was a letter, delivered by one of the school owls.

Her already bright smile grew wider as she read its contents:

Genevieve, I am truly looking forward to seeing you tonight. Meet me at the bottom of the stairs at 7:45. I picked these for you, hoping they will bring you joy as you have brought me. Until then.

Yours, Severus x

Placing the letter down, she put the wild daisies that were attached into a small vase, then got dressed into a casual jumper, slacks and black pumps.

When she was all ready, Genevive gathered her floo powder, annunciating very carefully, "Hogsmeade Village, " hoping to get the last few items for her evening outfit.

With a dusting of eyeshadow and a spritz of 7 Scents Season, Genevieve fixed a few stray twists and gave herself one last look over in the mirror. To say she looked stunning was a fable. Genevive adorned a breathtaking gold beaded dress, handed down by her grandmother who wore it at her first Yule Ball.
