Chapter Fourteen

Marinette heard a bing from her. phone. She pulled her shirt over her head, then picked up het phone. "A message from Adrien!?" She said as she put her backpack on. And opened the message.

Adrien❤️:
Hello, I just wanted to say thanks for all you have done for me. Im sorry. Goodbye.

"Nonononon, please. Tikki!" Said Marinette, looking up from her phone and shrugging off her backpack. " Marinette? Where are you going? You have school." Sabine said. " Oh, Right, bye! TIKKI" the red kwami zipped into her bag and Marinette ran out of the house before her mom could ask any questions. Instead of going to school, Marinette ran into the subway station, dashed into a crevasse in the wall "TIKKI SPOTS ON!" She said and transformed. "Please let me get there on time" She ran out of that station half transformed, pushing past people in her way, not caring who saw her. All she cared about was Adrien. Ladybug threw her yo-yo and was up and running atop the rooftops in a flash. She slipped up a few times, due to her speed. On a usual day it took Ladybug at least five minutes to get to his house, but today, it took her under two. Ladybug launched herself of a nearby house and dived towards his window heel first. Her heel made contact and smashed through Adrien's window. " Adrien!? Adrien?" She yelled. He wasn't in his room, Ladybug looked behind his couch and in his closet and his bed. His bed was neatly made, pillows fluffed and sheets smoothed. At the end of his bed there was a box, and a letter. She recognized this box. It was a miraculous box! Ladybug picked up the box and opened it. There was a bright light, and Plagg appeared in front of her. "Plagg?" She said " Adrien!" Plagg's face immediately dropped when he saw it wasn't Adrien. "Oh..." he said. " Plagg, do you know where Adrien is?" Asked Ladybug. Plagg gased behind her, looking at the broken window. " That window is at least a few inches thick! How'd you get through that?" Plagg asked astonished. She shrugged. "Adrenaline I guess. Now wheres Adrien." "I dont know. All he said was im sorry and If I tell you you'll try to stop me, then he removed the ring." Ladybug looked down and picked up the letter and opened it.

Dear Ladybug,
I knew you would be the first one here after you somehow got the text. Im sorry I didn't tell you, but this is my choice, and I think its the best one. You would have said " Its ok, we'll find another way" but truth is there is no other way. Just know, I love you and I will always be with you.

Dear Father,
I don't really know what to say to you, except, don't mourn me long, mom wouldn't want that. I will be with her soon, and I will make sure to tell her about all the wonderful things you have done. Just know that, even though you never told me or showed that you did. I love you.

There were tears in her eyes. What did he mean mourn? Wait, did he- Ladybug dropped the letter and the box, closing in and shutting Plagg inside. She shoved her hands under his mattress and pulled up. The dagger was gone. Ladybug went pale. NONONONONNO She searched frantically through his room; thinking of all the places he could have gone. Outside, in the basement, bathroom, kitchen, BATHROOM!! Ladybug threw open his bathroom door. Nothing could have prepared her for what she saw.

"A-Adri-" The tears in her eyes broke loose and were now pouring in thick streams down her face. Ladybug raised a hand to her mouth, and screamed. She collapsed to the floor, her legs no longer able to hold her. Why? Why would he do this? I told him we could fix this! Why would he give up?! Hiccuping sobs racked her body. With a mix of screams, she could barely breathe.

Gabriel was having a usual day, wake up, check his miraculous, brush his teeth, shine his miraculous, get dressed, call Nooroo, eat breakfast in his office. He was just about to check his miraculous again when he heard a huge crash coming from upstairs. "What the-" He placed his pen down on his tablet, and contemplated transforming. No, I could risk my Identity. He slowly got up from his chair and peeked his head out of the door. " Hello?" He asked to the empty parlor. Natalie and Adriens bodyguard usually weren't awake yet, so it couldn't have been them. When there was no response so he cautiously walked up the stairs to the second floor. By now it had been at least 5 minutes since he heard the crash, so he had forgotten where the crash had come from. He decided to just check rooms. Just as he was about to open a door, a scream came from Adriens room. Without any hesitation, he sped down the hall and burst through Adriens door. " WHAT IS GOING ON HER-" He paused when his eyes rested upon the scene before him.

When Gabriel saw what was in front of them, he froze. Like a statue, unable to move. He was filled with rage, sadness and greif. But what did he see? Well. What he saw was Ladybug in a screaming, crying heap on the floor. And In front of her. In front of her Was Adrien, In the bathtub, his skin had lost all color, his head back over the edge. laying in a pool of his own blood. A black and red ladybug spotted dagger, sticking out of his heart.
