5. Lily

"I don't know what to do, do I report her again, and to who.  I told the advisor about the food and she shrugged it off as normal, 'roommates borrow things all the time' had been her response to everything I listed she had done" I tell Nick and Robbie frustrated.

Nick had arrived and joined our dorm group, settling in well with Robbie and I, and the three of us had all, suffered through Imogen's diva attitude and behaviour. She helped herself to our food, didn't clear up after herself and made the communal area unpleasant to be in if she was there.  It was only after Nick saw her coming out of my room with my cashmere jumper and warned me, that I had checked and found a few more things missing.  At their insistence I had spoken to the dorm advisor but that got me nowhere, so now we were hiding out away from the dorm, having coffee and trying to come up with a way to deal with Imogen.

"Lily"
I looked up and froze at the sight of Hunter and Maxwell in front of me, their eyes scanning the other occupants at the table before pinning on me.  I had been here a month and had managed to avoid them so far, with the exception of the goodnight texts which they sent every evening, that I replied to,  but it looked like my luck had run out.

"Introduce us" Max growled and I groaned, seeing high school all over again, when any male friends were vetted by them and usually rejected or warned to the point they freaked out if I got too close.
"Why?" I argued, glaring back at them, my eyes widening as they grinned before pulling two chair across to the table and joining us, one either side of me.  Then ignoring me, as they introduced themselves to Nick and Robbie, getting the information they wanted directly.

"We are Lily's room mates" Robbie said innocently and I felt the change in them. The tension making me fidget in my seat, till Max's hand landed on my thigh under the table and I froze.
Nick laughed, "We were just discussing our other room mate, Imogen the Diva, she's making Lily's life miserable" he tells them, and I hiss at him.
"Nick!" but it was too late. Max's hand tightened on my leg, and Hunter leant forward showing his interest.

"Really tell me more" he said looking between Nick and Robbie, who finally caught on to the tension.
Nick and Robbie looked at me to answer and I shook my head slightly hoping they would stay silent, I didn't need these two involved, but Max caught the movement and growled.  Nick pushed his chair back looking like he was going to flee.

"SIT DOWN" Max barked at him and he dropped back into his seat, shocked. "Tell us what is going on" he demanded and I bristled at his tone.
"Don't talk to them like that, it's nothing..."
Angry eyes catch mine and I gulp, mid sentence, "Be quiet Lily, we will get to you in a minute" Hunter promises and I shiver.

"Imogenhasbeenusinglilysfoodandtakingstufffromherroom" Robbie rushes out quickly and we all look at him in confusion.
He sighs and repeats himself "Imogen has been using Lily's food and taking things from her room"
"What has she taken?" Max asks politely and Nick tells him everything.

Hunter looks at me "Have you told your parents?" he asks and I shake my head as his eyes narrow. "Why not?"
"Because I don't have any proof and they would get involved and deal with it for me, or call you in to help" I muttered and hide my eyes, knowing already the looks they would be sharing.

"Can you put a lock on the door?" Max asked but Nick shook his head.
"Dorm rules about Fire regs won't allow it" he replies.
"Okay, we will install a camera" Hunter says and the boys all agree, leaving me sat opened mouthed as my roommates agree with the twins suggestion.
"No" I argue but again Hunter silences me with a look.

"You need proof, a motion camera will record any movement in your room when you are not there" he explains to me and I relax a little.
"It only works when I'm not there?" I question and their eyes shoot to me in understanding.
"Yes, you can switch it on and off, I promise it won't invade your privacy" Max tells me softly.

"Okay, but where do you get the camera?" Robbie asked "maybe we all need one, I hadn't thought to check if anything of mine was missing"

"We can get three cameras and drop them off to you later this afternoon, and help you set them up" Hunter tells them and I groan as he adds "It will be interesting to see where you are living Lily, Uncle Paul seemed a bit unhappy about it"

Nick and Robbie thanked them, happy that there was a way of getting proof about Imogen's behaviour, and that someone else had taken up the fight.  I groan knowing that the twins now had a way into my life.  And felt relief when the twins left, even if their promise to see me later felt more like a threat.

"God Lily, where have you been hiding those fine specimens" Nick gushed, fanning his face with his hand and I giggled nervously.  Nick had told us the first day we met he was bi and shown us pictures of his boyfriend and girlfriend back home and had even introduced us to them on FaceTime.

"They're like my cousins, I've know them all my life, we grew up together" I explain.
Robbie laughs at me.  "Lily, that's not familial interest they have in you"
I shake my head as Robbie and Nick continue to tease me.
