After Max updated Uncle Paul, we grabbed our coats and headed into town, determined to take Lily's mind off the texts.
Starting at the museum, which she hadn't visited, we toured the exhibits, Lily eventually relaxing enough to tease us and instigate conversation. Max and I had exchanged a relieved look, as we had followed her round.
Lily had been taken by a display of artefacts from Egypt including a gold and turquoise necklace, her finger, touching her neck as she eyed it.
"I'll be back in a minute" I told Max, leaving her with him as I headed for the gift shop, hoping that they had a copy for sale and they did, the shop assistant amazed that she was finally selling one of their most expensive pieces.
I found them where I had left them, Lily still looking at the jewellery and Max's raised brow and smirk told me he had guessed what I had done.
"Lets go get some lunch" Max grinned and I nodded, Lily reluctantly coming away from the display, as we headed for the Tea Rooms at the Bodleian Library.
"Thank you, that was wonderful" Lily said happily to us as we sat down and we both grinned."Good, I got you something to remember your visit" I told her and she looked at me shocked.
"Why, when?" she muttered, looking between me and Max.
I slid the box across the table to her and watched as her hand shook a little before opening it."Oh Hunter, it's wonderful, Thank you" she whispered, her finger running over the turquoise stones, before shocking me by leaning over and kissing my cheek.
I sat stunned, she had kissed me.Max's groans "Damn it baby, I want a kiss, just you wait, it's my turn to surprise you next" and we both watch as a fiery blush stains her skins and she giggles nervously.
I reach for the box and free the necklace, getting up to move behind her "Lift you hair darling" and I watch her shiver as she does as instructed, allowing me to clasp the necklace in place.
"Beautiful" I tell her, kissing the top of her head before sitting back down.
We are leaving the tea rooms when Lily's phone vibrates in my pocket, I wave Max ahead with her as I pull it out to see the text, my eyes narrowing in anger as I read the words.
"Fuck" I growl, forwarding the text to Uncle Paul, before sliding the phone back into my pocket and catching up with Lily. Max gives me a questioning look, but I shake my head and mouth later.
"Come on, let's do the bus tour" Lily says excitedly pulling Max towards the bus stop and we groan but follow her. Happy that she is relaxing and enjoying herself.
"Have you done this before?" she queries as we purchase our tickets and we both shake our heads and she grins, "Good, then we can all enjoy it together" she grins and I cant resist pulling her to me and kissing her lips before Max tugs her init the seat next to him, her hand in his.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the tour, having seen it as a tourist gimmick, I learnt a lot about the town that I didn't know and watching Lily's eyes light up when she saw something new was the icing on the cake. We left the bus and meandered through the town centre, window shopping as we went, both Max and I watching and learning what Lily liked and disliked, stopping for coffee in the Westgate centre before Lily saw a group head past us with Ice skates over their shoulders.
"We should go ice skating" she grinned at us. "Iv'e never been but I've always wanted too" she adds and I look away to hide my grin as Max caves and promises we can go.
"Now?" she asks excitedly.
"Er. Yes we can go now if you want to" he chokes out and I shake my head at him, its been a long time since either of us have skated, so this could be a painful experience.
Lily leads us out of the shopping centre towards the Ice rink and we can see the skaters through the big windows as we near the building. Max and I exchange a nervous look over Lily's head as we enter. Lily gazing around her and mumbling to herself, as Max goes to get tickets.
"Hunter, Lily" Max calls and we join him at the desk. "this session is due to end and thens the rink is booked for hockey training, so we cant skate today" he explains and I watch Lily's face fall.
Max pulls her into a hug "Sorry baby, but I promise to bring you next weekend, if you want me too" he offers and she giggles up at him, before kissing his cheek and blushing.
"Yes please Max, I would love that"
"Its a date" he tells her and her eyes go wide.
"A date?" she whispers looking between us.
"Yes darling, a date, just like today is, this is the first of many" I tell her, stepping up behind her to sandwich her between us.
"Okay" she squeaks breathlessly and we both smile at her agreement.
"Good, now lets go home and relax, we can order in for dinner" Max says grinning at me.
