16. Lily

I can see dad on the phone to Logan and I cant help but worry, they should have been here by now, what if something has happened to them?

"Lily, calm down sweetie" Mom comes and takes my hand in hers, rubbing soothing circles as I look at her.

"Logan..." I start but dad comes back into the room.

"Logan is at the flat with the twins and will be here shortly, don't worry sweetie they are all safe" he tells me and I sag in relief.

"They're okay?" I question anyway and he nods.

"Yes they are okay. I promise" he takes a seat on the other side of the bed and leans into mom.

"I'm sorry" I whisper and they both still and look at me.

"What for baby?" Mom asks.

"For all this mess, I bet Logan hasn't had all these problems" I cry and groan as they lean forward to comfort me and catch my arm.

"owww"

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry" they rush to pull back and I giggle, my emotions seesawing back and forth.

Dad waits for me to settle before taking my good hand in his. "Lily, none of this is your fault, we don't blame you, and we don't expect you to do the same as Logan, god knows we had to bail him out of a number of situations while you've been safe at home. It will be alright, now before they get here, there is something your mom and I want to talk to you about"

I look between them nervously "What is it?"

Dad looks uncomfortable and I get a sudden idea of where this conversation is going. "How do you feel about the twins, you know they like you" he rushed out finally, and I giggled again as mom shook her head at him.

"Really Paul, that's not how you ask her" she scolded him and he glared at her.

"You do it then"

"Okay Lily, by now the twins must have told you they are interested in you, we recognised they have been for a while and we want to know, are you interested in them that way, and with both of them?" Mom asks and dad blushes.

"I... I think so" I tell them honestly and mom smiles brightly as dad groans.

"Good, you know you have the support of both families" Mom went on and I gasped,

"Did everyone know?" I whisper and they both nod. "How long?"

"I did wonder at your sixteenth birthday but wasn't sure till your eighteenth, then they were watching you more, and at your leaving party, I think they had made their mind up" Mom says, laughing at my expression.

"Its real then?"

"Oh sweetie, very real, but I know those boys, they will never hurt you and you just need to set the pace" Mom advises softly.

"Preferably after Uni is finished" Dad adds with a scowl.

"Thats three years away, don't be silly" Mom tells him as I sit bemused watching them bicker.

A brief knock sounds before the door opens and Logan and the twins come in, I can finally relax as i can see they are safe.

"Hey Lil, how do you feel?" Logan asks, coming up and kissing the top of my head before hugging me.

"Like i've been hit by a bus" I tell him emotionally. "Why are you here, you should be at your uni" I scold softly, glad to see him but knowing this would mess up his first term.

"Hush, if it was me, you'd be there, so don't expect less from me" he teases, tightening the hug before moving back to let the twins come close.

They approached on either side of the bed and both leaned in to kiss my cheek softly, before sitting on the edge of the bed either side of me.

"Baby, close your eyes and hold out your hand" Max ordered softly, a hot blush staining my cheeks as I did as instructed. I felt the cold metal touch my palm and the tickle of the chain as it slid down the side of my hand and gasped, my eyes opening.

"My locket"

I looked between them and Logan "How?"

Logan smiled "We popped into your dorm and carefully picked it up" he said and I looked between them worriedly.

"Imogen. you didn't?"

"No Lil, she has nothing she can come after us on" Logan promised and I nodded relieved.

Hunter took the locket from my hand and stood "Lift you hair" he instructed and he clasped the locket in place around my neck, my hand coming up to fiddle with the chain as I blushed at their attention.

The attention swung to the door as another knock sounded, everyone suddenly looking alert and protective as dad opened the door, to find a police detective there, he stepped outside, closing the door behind him and leaving us all waiting.

I hoped this wasn't as a result of the boys visit to Imogen, I didn't trust her to not claim something had happened, the worry going round and round in my head until Logan growled "Stop it" at me.

Mom laughed at our interaction which eased some of the tension and Logan changed the subject.

"Your dorm room is horrible, you can't stay there" he said and mom latched not his words.

"Its fine, it's only for a year anyway" I argue.

"Whats wrong with it?" Mom asks him and I scowl at Logan, now she's going to put her nose in.

"Its dirty, run down, pokey, unsafe and after what's happened, not a good place for her" Logan tells mom.

"Butt out Logan" I growl, and the twins laugh causing me to shoot a glare at them too.

"Too late, and i've already packed up your things, they're at the twins flat instead" Logan tells me and I cant believe what i'm hearing.

"You. You, how dare you, did you ask me what I wanted, did you even ask the twins if I could stay there... No. Ahh, you cant do this to me" I shout at him.

Mom steps up next to me "Lily is the dorm that bad... the truth" she insists as I open my mouth to deny it.

"Yes, but it's what's available" I counter.

Mom turns to the twins "Do you want Lily staying with you?"

"Always" Max replies while Hunters says "Yes!"

"Then it's settled, you stay with the twins, you will be safer and we will be happier knowing you're safe" Mom decrees and I groan, falling back against the pillows, as Dad returns.

"Well?" Mom asks.

"They have arrested Melissa Grant in Brighton, she has admitted the hit and run and sending the messages" Dad tells us.

"So it's over, i'm safe?" I ask and dad nods.
