Chapter Three - Coffee

Once Diana had calmed down enough, she pulled the next note out of the box. She noticed that this one was written after the third time they hung out -she knew this by the title of the note, 'coffee.' She took a deep breath and began to read.

I hung out with Diana again today. For the third time. I love hanging out with her, I always learn new things about her. For example, today I learned that she hates coffee. She took one sip of mine and crinkled her nose in the most adorable way. I told her I don't think we could hang out anymore if she doesn't like coffee. She hit me and said "you dick." I laughed at her. I want to ask her on a real date, but I'm scared. Scared she'll reject me. I'm also scared because my friends tell me I'm moving to fast, and after what happened with Selena, I'm not sure I'll ever be ready for a real relationship. I'm also not sure if she likes me, I mean, why would she? She told me that she likes hanging out with me though, and I said she's not that bad of company either. She hit me again "that's all I get? 'Not bad company' rude." She makes me happy, I think happier than I deserve to be.

Diana looked at the note, shocked. She knew that Calum was sometimes insecure, of course. But she didn't think that he thought he didn't deserve to be with her. If anything, it was the other way around. She turned pulled the polaroid off the back - it was a picture of aunt Jenny's, the coffee shop they always went to together. Diana loved reading these notes, it was like she was reliving their relationship, just the happy moments. She could at least pretend to be happy again, while she was reading them. And for now, that's all she needed.
