When my sense finally came to me, I realized I was bound by ropes. Opening my eyes I noticed I was in a dimly lit chamber. There weren't any windows the only light was from the doorway, which was open. Why would our capacitors just leave the door open? I didn't know. I tried to see sideways which was hard as my hands were tied to a pillar and were behind me. But as I glanced back I noticed Trijya and Rashi there too. Still asleep.
I tried to wake them but didn't want to rise my voice. But after about 5 minutes they were both awake.
"Any guess? Who's our capacitor?" Rashi asked. She didn't seem afraid our even if she was, she didn't let it on her face. Trijya looked like she was thinking really hard. I, on the other hand, was terrified. We were in the middle of I didn't know, in captivity by I didn't know and without any backup or so.
So all three of us did the same thing we were tough. Trying to get out of the ropes. Apparently, they were fireproof because Rashi's fire spells didn't work on it or maybe she didn't really cast it well. Spells were hard to cast when you're nervous or maybe even spells so simple have been gone out because Magic isn't working.
After about an hour we heard footsteps, a lady in about her thirties, wearing white trousers and a purple t-shirt walked in. Her t-shirt read "Bull's-eye". Thought she wore glasses, I tried to concentrate as Guruji had told me. It's hard to notice monsters, they're guarded in mist so in the beginning years you'll need to concentrate but once your eyes have a habit of it. You won't have any problem. Oh, and did I tell you that mist was like a magic that was made so mortals ( non-Mythological or whatever, normal people) don't freak out. It was also the reason we could use magic easily in Normal World.
As I concentrated, her features become clear. She had horns, like really large ones and also I noticed her head was kind of combination between buffalo and human. Which wasn't much weird as most monster kinda were that ugly. She came up to us with her creepy smile.
"Oh my, did I kept my guests waiting? You sire will forgive me for that.
I bravely asked" who are you?" and at the same time Trijya asked too "why have you kidnapped us?"
"Well of course, foolish of me to not even introduce myself, I'm Mahi and for your question dear. Don't take it personally but I couldn't resist some money, right? You demigods are so good price. And I can even sense one of you is the child of the Trinity. I could use some of that money."
She was talking so calms that you would think she really is sorry that she's selling us to some monster as food. Rashi thought asked her another question that made her look really offended "so you didn't capture us to eat yourself?".
She really with that frustratingly offended face "No dear, I'm pure vegan. I would never eat meat, I just provide food. As I did for you in my restaurant."
Then she went out of the room as she had just remembered something. I asked, " any idea about our Vegan bull faced vegan Rakshasi here?"
I couldn't really see their faces as it would take a bit effort to see sideways again. But Trijya answered "She's Mahishi if I'm right. Sister to Mahishasura, I can't remember...." But before she could complete the Rakshasi came down roaring "Who said his name in my house, how dare you to speak of my brother".
Rashi asked calmly but still frightened maybe "Why though, wasn't he like your favourite and you took an oath to avenge him?"
"Why, you ask why Demigod. He is the reason I don't get recognised, he's the reason I always get killed. No one knows even who I am" she bellowed.
"Of course, we know of you. The powerful Mahishi. We tremble just at your sight." I said hoping to clam her so she doesn't just kill us straight. And to my surprise she did clam.
She said " of course, I'm .. powerful" it sounds more like she was assuring herself more than confirming.
"We cane here to meet you" Trijya blurted." We came here to meet the famous Rakshasi, whom even gods fear. O powerful Rakshasi, have we known it was you. We would have given our lives without you drugging us." Trijya added. She was getting it, Mahi was hungry for attention and Trijya was giving her that. Mahi looked as she had just been gifted a palace.
"You came to meet me, why Demigod? " She asked as if to hear more compliments.
"We came here to give you a gift, a weapon only worthy of you. I have made it myself. For my ideal you, my lady. "
"You've got a gift for me" she was really pleased at this point. " You're not tricking me, right?"
"How can a mere demigod like me trick you, O wise Asura, you've tricked gods themselves, what are mere mortals against you. Of course, I can't trick you".
Mahi at this point looked quite convinced. I was now getting where this was going but, knew better to interrupt her.
"What is this gift you talk of?"
"It's a weapon powerful to kill gods, but of course it'll need to be wielded by someone as strong as you, just get me out of these ropes, so I could give the gift to you myself." At last line, Mahi seemed to get that she might be getting tricked. Before she could say anything Trijya went on "Of course, I wouldn't be any threat to someone as powerful as you. What can I even do to the great Mahishi."
That was enough butter for Mahi apparently, so she got the ropes to kinda vanish with a flick. Trijya got up and pulled her Dagger out of our usual storing pocket in air. The dagger she had shown me before we left Gurukul. And presented it to Mahi. Mahi was so pleased with it that she forgot what's it made of or probably didn't know about it. As she looked in the Black Mirror her face turned from one emotion to another. As Trijya cut our ropes with a sword.
"How long will she be like this?" I asked her.
"She'll be alright as soon as someone else gets her out of it, it's not that hard for Asuras as they're quite good with darkness themselves"
We got out of the basement and were back in that restaurant, it was evening already. We needed to catch any train we can get towards Varanasi.
