imagine: bucky going after you as the winter soldier.
it was horrific. one moment he was your bucky-- smiling at a stupid joke you had made-- and then the next he was a completely different person. his eyes lost their light. his smile was replaced with firmness. you didn't want to believe it but steve's frantic voice in your earpiece told you to run. when you were crouched behind a half wall, steve had let you know that bucky's earpiece had been hacked and only he could hear the trigger words. then his metal hand grabbed your arm and hoisted you up on your feet. "bucky!" you speak, "bucky, it's me! come on, i know you know my face." something in his eyes shifted. for a moment it looked like he remembered. and then it died almost immediately. "i know your face." he says, "you're my target."
