When we are given the opportunity for a better lifestyle, we must be quick to take it because it may just pass and never come back.

*Beep* *Beep*
The sound of my alarm shouted in my ear, telling me to wake up. I slowly get off my bed as the pain reminded me of what had happened last night. It felt like I took twenty minutes to get to the bathroom. I took a look at myself in the mirror. The outline of my father's hand was now visible. I slowly lifted my shirt and a big bruise started to form just over my ribcage, tears forced their way out. I removed my shirt completely, more bruises had appeared. The majority of them were on my arm. I stepped into the shower and let the water hit my discolored skin, wincing at the change of temperature.
I scanned my closet for clothes to use. I found a grey long sleeve shirt and decided to use that since it would probably hide the bruises well. I finished getting ready, so I grabbed my things and headed to the bus stop. There were a lot more people than usual, but I just sat down and waited for the bus. Suddenly, I heard a few whispers coming from beside me. I glanced up, two girls looked my way as they whispered to each other. They immediately looked away once they saw that I noticed them. I had no idea what they were looking at, but after a minute of thinking, I realized that I had forgotten to bring my face mask to cover the mark. I take my hair and placed over the bruised area, then looked down at the pavement.
{At the University}
I walked down the hall and towards my class. I kept my head down so that my hair would cover my face. I felt a few stares from behind me as whispers followed. We were in college, so I thought gossiping would have ended in high school. It's okay, I thought. I will be in my class in a bit anyway, so-
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" I said as I bowed my head as I heard a familiar chuckle.
"It's okay, but you wouldn't have to be if you lifted your head." I looked up and Sungwoon was in front of me, laughing.
"Right. I'm sorry..." I let out an embarrassed laugh. He smiled, but it soon faded. He probably noticed right? I lowered my head again. Sungwoon did not say anything for a bit.
"C'mon, let's go." He said as he took my hand and softly pulled me in the direction he was going.
"Where are we going? My class starts in a bit." I questioned and continued to follow him. After we had passed the gym, he stopped walking.
"We have the same class. You didn't get Professor Hyobin's email?" I looked up.
"Wait, what?" Sungwoon chuckled and nodded.
"I've had you for a lot of classes this year." What? How did I not realize this?!
"I-I'm sorry...I never really noticed." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"It's okay, but that's not the reason why I pulled you here." Sungwoon paused and I knew.
"What happened?" I did not want to meet his eyes because I knew what he wanted to know, so I kept quiet.
"Y/n, please. Tell me what happened."
"Y/n, I want to help you... If you'll let me." I looked up at him. His eyes showed concern.
"Look, I know we never spoke to each other until this project, but I really want to help you. Whatever the story is behind that, no one should ever hit a girl." Sungwoon said as he moved my hair away from my face so he could get a better look at the bruise on my face. My vision slightly grew blurry by the tears in my eyes.
