Family game night. It seems harmless. It is. But it's dreadful when you have to deal with Clay. Maybe I can fake being sick. Just maybe. OOO maybe I'll get chicken noodle soup, too. Yaaas.
"Mommy," I fake sniffle and walk down the stairs slowly.
"What's wrong, Ady," she asks.
"I don't feel so good,"I say and cough. Wait, that was a real cough. Ugh I'm actually coming down sick.
"Well, why don't you stay upstairs and I'll make you some soup and maybe Lucas can come over and y'all can watch Netflix," she smiles and motions for me to go back upstairs.
I lie in my bed and start to text Lucas.

A: are you doing anything tonight?
L: no. is everything okay?
A: I'm not feeling too well :/ . Was wondering if you wanted to come over and chill and watch netflix.
L: I'll be over in a few , baby :*

I didn't text him back after that. Awe he's so cute. I scroll through Instagram and before I know it, I'm asleep.

"Babe, wake up," I feel someone shake me lightly.
I look up and see Lucas' bright blue eyes. He has a bag in his hand he sets it down on the floor.
"You're burning up," he says after he kisses my forehead.
"I was faking, but I ended up actually feeling sick. Aren't I lucky," I try to laugh, but I end up coughing.
"I'll be back, babe. Imma go get you some cough medicine and a glass of water," he bites his lip before walking out.
Since when did he start calling me babe?
"Hey, Adalyn, I hope you feel better," Clay walks in. I look up at him and he's biting his lip, also. Why does everybody bite their lip?
"Thanks, Clay," I try to be nice. I'm not feeling well enough to be mean to him.
"Well, I'm going to go back to games," he laughs uncomfortably and scratches his neck.
"Bye, Clay," I wave goodbye and lie my head back onto my pillow and wait for Lucas.
I don't have to wait that long because he's back in my room , giving me cough medicine and feeding me chicken noodle soup.
He goes to put the spoon in my mouth and accidentally spills the hot liquid on me. Instead of being mad, I laugh and wipe it up with my sweater paws.
Why is he hand feeding me? I don't know, but it's sweet. After I eat, he joins by my side and we watch a movie.
"Crap, I'm sorry. I forgot to get your temp," he bites his lip and presses the back of his hand to my forehead.
"It's okay, Lucas. You're doing enough for me," I smile and cuddle into his side. I really hope I don't get him sick.
"Babe," he says.
"Mhm," I look up to him.
"You look tired, do you want me to turn the movie off and stay with you until you fall asleep?" he asks. I nod my head before realizing how sleepy I actually am.
"You're a great boyfriend, Lucas," I smile and intertwine our fingers together.
"You're a great girlfriend, Adalyn," he smiles back and kisses my forehead," now get some sleep, baby."

"Adalyn, are you feeling any better ?" Lucas asks me, while walking into my room.
"Not really," I cough and lie back down. I have a raging headache and my throat burns.
"Here, let's get your temp," he says and puts the thermometer in my mouth.
After a couple of minutes, it beeps and he pulls it out of my mouth.
"Your temp is 102," he bites his lip and hands me medicine. Great, a fever.
I do as he tells me and take my medicine, although I hate meds with a passion.
"Are you hungry? I can make soup or jello or anything you want," he asks.
"I'm not hungry right now, but thank you, Lucas," I smile.
"Your mom left for work an hour ago and everyone else is at the LaBrants. Even the demon sibling," he laughs and sits beside me.
"Baby, I don't wanna get you sick," I try to push him away, but I fail and he just holds me closer.
"I just wanna make sure you're comfortable, and if I get sick, oh well," he smiles and kisses my forehead.
Maybe life in Alabama won't be so bad.

Guiys Clay will show up a lot more in chapters to come. He's just a shadow right now because Adalyn can't really stand him. But aaaawwwe Lucas is so cute.
