I was happy that my best friend finally found a girl and I knew that when I saw him again he wasn't going to be the same. She was pretty, although, I was moving so fast that I couldn't see her face.
Sadly, City's still mad at me. I don't know where she's staying, so I can't even go see her. I just have to wait for her to call me.
I'm really worried. I just want to know that she's safe. I waited at the cafe where Phillip worked, so I could go see him.
It was exactly eight fifty. He walked through the door.
"Hey, Phillip." I greet him "Hey!" He welcomed. He looked so much happier. "You're glowing. That girl must've done wonders."
"Let's just say I feel like more of a man." He declared.
I chuckled "So when will I meet her?" He froze for a second. "Uh, she has to get her hair cut tomorrow so...and she actually just lost her voice. She's pretty sick today, can't even walk." He smirked.
Fine then. "The regular, please," I ordered. As Phillip rushed to the kitchen I peered through my messages.
Becky...
Jade...
Bex...
Vivian...
Ah-
Melton...God, I miss him. But I can't go to him now. I'm too imperfect...
I need to find my sister, figure out these memories...or dreams..?I'm way too broken to bring him into anything now. Is it even okay for me to be gay? Would my dad accept me? Would my sister?
And why the hell do I care what she thinks nowadays?
Percy walked through the door as I thought to myself. He sat in front of me as Phillip brought me my order and he ordered a coffee.
Percy and Phillip were about the opposite of each other. But they were both my friends.
Of course, they hated each other. Phillip got him a coffee and Percy muttered "Thanks, You're good at your job. Born to serve."
Phillip leaned closer to Percy making me snap out of my trance.
"I'd beat your ass but I'm working. I'd check your coffee before you drink it." He winked with a smile and left.I chuckled, Percy looked at me. "Does he seem different to you?" He whispered. "You noticed." I smile.
Percy's eyes began to open wide. "You're telling me-? No way! He got a girlfriend? Before me?"
My chuckle grew louder. Granny, shushed us. Granny isn't my grandmother everyone just calls her that. She ran the cafe with her daughter which we all called mama and Phillip of course.
I call Phillip by his name but newcomers call him 'bro,' or 'big brother.' But I bet his girlfriend calls him-
"Get this I was walking down the street going to a meeting right, and some bitch steps on my new shoes. Then she shouts 'shove the shoe up your ass'-I can't believe people, man!"He continued.
Me and Percy talked for a while. Then I got a call. It was Melton...
I picked up and walked outside. "Hello?" I said cheerfully.
"Nice to see you're doing well, asshole!" Mel shouted. At first, I thought he was angry but he started to vent and he started to sound more and more like he was crying.
"Mel, " I cut him off. "Where are you?"
Once he informs me of his location I rush to be with him.
I've been alone in that apartment so long I tend to forget that my life isn't always about me. Or even my family.
I' just have to make time.
