As the sun slowly started it's daily shift I started mine. I found some eggs and bacon in the fridge. Didn't know my brother cooked but I guess there's a lot I don't know about him.
As soon as I'm almost done cooking he comes into the living room. "Morning little brother." I greet. "Last time I checked I was taller than you. Also, just because I'm an hour younger than you doesn't mean you can call me little brother." he started
"Yeah, yeah come eat," I told him. "I'm going out today. I'll find a job and help you with the rent." He sat down. I placed a plate in front of him and he looked to me with slight worry in his eyes. "Be careful. There's a lot of sickos in New York. I don't want to see you on the news or have to put up missing posters." He whimpered
"I'll try not to get kidnapped. Happy?" He nodded and started to eat his food. "You're not eating with me?" "No. I already ate. Early bird gets the potato chips."
I took a quick shower and left.
I just started walking and God it is loud in New York. I swear if another car honks I'm going to scream.
There's also a lot of people in New York and not enough space. If cars weren't on the streets that's where I would walk. There are so many cars and yet it's still tempting.
And don't get me started on the people-
While I'm walking I trip on someone's shoe. I fall to the muddy ground and the guy starts yelling.
"These are new shoes! I have to be at an important meeting in five minutes!" Before he says anymore I stop him with a little advice. "Shove that shoe up your ass!" I stomped off and went into a small cafe.
Straight to the bathroom and started to wipe myself off.
When I came out I looked for jobs near me on my phone. After looking for a while I guy sat in front of me with a piece of cheesecake.
"You've been here a while. Just thought you'd like to eat something." He smiled at me. "Thanks."
I slid the plate over and continued to look. Soon enough I found a job. It could help just a little bit with becoming a lawyer. It paid pretty well too.
I didn't how long I was there but by the time I looked up it was dark. The guy who brought me the cheesecake which I actually did eat, talked to me. His name was Phillip. He was pretty nice and if I do say so myself kinda cute.
What I didn't know if that our conversation was leading back to his place. He offered me a beer but I declined.
I wasn't much of a drinker. I didn't smoke either. Nineteen wasn't where I wanted to start.
Phillip and I talked a little more. I got really worried at first. I didn't know my brother's number so I couldn't tell him where I was. I know my way back home from here. I've been to New York a few times before.
Phillip took all my worry away. What did he to do it? Well...
