The girl came back in. "So?" I push her to answer my earlier question. "No. I have a lot on my mind and I'd like to keep this professional if you don't mind." She spoke.I smiled, "Sure."
God, I want her. "Where is my logic?" You might ask, well the thing is I like it when women treat me like dirt.
She's even Phillip's girlfriend! I can get back at him now. Of course, it'll be hard to–
I look down at the forms that I've been given and my eyes widen. Signed with her name, City Thomas? Thomas like...Cillian Thomas.Like my friend's twin sister. Phillip...hasn't told him yet, has he?
Every second I want this girl more and more.I stare at her as she checks her phone. "Let's go to my office. We'll have privacy there and I'd like to talk to you about this promotion." I explain getting up and offering my hand. She gets up, pushing my hand out of the way and waits for me outside.
I'm truly dying inside. Am I in love or what? When I get outside I point her to my car and we both get inside it.
I know something I'd to be inside right now...
I drive slow but not that slow. I really want to get to the office but I want to know a bit out of her."Cillian's worried." She rolls her eyes as she looks to me and we stop at a red light. "Cillian and Phillip have nothing to do with work, do they?"
I nod as the light turns green. "Correct but Cillian is family and I understand that you must be going through a hard time, considering what happened. Whatever it was, he's worried about you."
"There is no but in business, I don't know how you know my brother but at this point, I don't care. I got pulled into all types of drama when I got here. Now I'm just trying my best to avoid it. Maybe if I had listened to my brother... Maybe.. if he had listened to me neither of us would be where we are."
I kept my eyes on the road but I wanted to look at her. She had a hint of sadness in her voice even though she had spoken professionally. She didn't dodge my questions or statements at all. She took them head-on and if her whole life she's been like that then life has been hard for her.
I looked to her just for a second and my jaw dropped at the sight of her smiling, a single teardrop, gazing out of the window where it snowed.
"Has anyone ever told you. You're extremely beautiful." I mumbled looking back to the road.
For a moment in that car, if any man had glanced at her and she had the slightest bit of grief it would have broken him.
If I weren't her boss, only God knows could've occurred.
