As we trotted into town many came outside to see the lost shifter. I stuck close to Seth, a little nervous. Then we came to my families house. And they all came spilling out. Oh, my brothers. Liam lunged at me and threw his arms around my neck. I wrapped my neck around him then shifted back. I hugged him tightly. Then a very pregnant Catherine stepped forwards. I half smiled at Liam and greeted Catherine. Then Sam tackled me. I laughed and hugged him. Then Sam stepped back and gestured proudly to a pretty young woman.
Oh! Lib look! This is my mate, Eli."
I talked to Eli for a bit. I could not believe Sam, my brother, had found his mate. Id been gone so long. Almost a year and a half I think. Then mum and dad stepped forwards. I stepped forwards and hugged them both fiercely.
Many touching family hours later, Seth and I went home. When we got there he made me chocolate milk. I chugged it down and asked for another. He smiled and made me another.
*3 cups later*
I was so full. Four cups of chocolate milk in four minutes was NOT a good idea. Even if you've been deprived for a year and a half.
Sam carried me up the stairs. Without me saying anything, he set me down before a door to a guest bedroom that connected to his. I smiled at him and nodded my thanks. I changed to my ever favorite pair of pjs then went to sleep. And I slept like the dead. The next morning I rose with the dawn. As I had done every morning for the past year and a half. I stretched and sat up. After brushing my hair I made my way downstairs for my morning ritual breakfast of strawberry mini wheats and my chocolate milk. I turned on my favorite childhood show and watched until I finished. Then I felt the need for a run. I wrote a note for Seth then went upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes then went outside. I took a deep breath of air then shifted. I shook my head and reared. Then I set off at a slow lope up my favorite hill with the apple tree forests. I grazed on sweet, sour, and regular apples. Feeling frisky, I bucked and, with a squeal, took off, cantering along. I ran faster, adrenaline pumping through my blood, urging me to faster speeds. I went my full speed and my mane and tail flew out behind me. Suddenly I slid to a stop and reared proudly. I landed and looked over town. Then I turned and trotted back to the house. I shifted back and stepped inside. Only nine. A sleepy shirtless Seth came downstairs and I tried hard not to stare at him. I'd forgotten how handsome he was. His brown hair was tousled and spiky, his forest green eyes lively. Then my gaze wandered to his bare chest. He had abs. I must have been staring awhile because he smirked at me. I blushed and turned away.
"Good morning Liberty."
"Morning Seth."
I mumbled my reply, still blushing. He chuckled and came forwards and hugged me to his chest. I snuggled into his chest and sighed contentedly.
Did you have a good run?
I did, I went up to the old forest and grazed on the apples up there. I was peaceful.
I'm glad, what do you want to do today?
Lie around all day.
Sounds like a plan. And for the rest of the day, we sat around doing nothing all day but catching up.
