"Elaine Didyme Volturi!! Where are you?!" A loud voice echo's though the castle walls while a 6-year-old girl hides in a closet. She is covering her mouth so the person looking for her won't hear her. Which is completely useless considering it is a vampire that is looking at her and she still has a beating heart that is beating a bit too loudly for her liking. Not that they need to listen to her heart, considering it is Demetri. He and his tracking gifts don't require him to use his supernatural hearing. The door slowly opens and there stands a black hooded figure. The girl whimpers softly as he lifts her in his cold arms and slowly walks away. "You know that I will always find you... Why do you even try?" He says with that smooth voice of his. The girl, known as Elaine (Ella), giggles softly and snuggles against his hard shoulder. "Yeah, yeah. I like you too."
He carries her to the throne room where he places her down on the cold floor before she skips over to her father. Without them exchanging a word she climbs on his lap and leans back against the man's chest. Said man wraps an arm around her in a protective manner.
The other two kings look at the couple and Aro chuckles softly. "You have changed since you decided to keep her, brother." Marcus looks up to lock eyes with him. "We all have. She has us wrapped around her little fingers. I know that she only has to look at something and even Caius will buy it for her. No questions asked nor any protest given." At this Aro chuckles once again. "True. She is a breeze of fresh air in our long and boring lives." "That she is brother... That she is."
During the exchange green eyes have been locked on a certain pair of red orbs that have been staring back at her. No, not ones of the kings but a guard. The girl has never seen him before but she doubted that the guard was new. After all she never really bothered to learn their names. Some she would see for a couple of days and then she wouldn't see them for years. The only guards that she has gotten to know are Felix and Demetri. Demetri because he usually is tasked with finding her and Felix because he was highly trusted by the kings. Besides that, he wasn't one to back away from a game or two. He was actually fun to be around. Which is a rare thing in such a big castle filled with undead vampires that want to suck her dry every time they get the chance.
This guard was male. His eyes a blood red, meaning that he recently fed. His hair slightly messy but still clearly styled. It was a dark brown that looked almost red in the light coming from the lit candles beside him.
A smile formed on her lips as she took in the boy. He looked young. Almost too young to be turned but then again, she wasn't one to judge. The boy couldn't help the small twitch of his lips as he noticed her smile at him. It lasted only a second but that was enough for the girl to notice.
"I see that you are interested in Alec? Want to meet him, our princess?" The girl's green eyes turned to Aro's red ones as she nodded with a big grin on her face. "You heard the lady. Come on over!" Caius loud voice echoed through the room and the guard, now known as Alec, made his way over in vampire speed. He stopped at the start of the steps and looked at the girl's green eyes once again.
Just by using their eyes they were having a silent conversation. Until the girl hopped off her father's lap and walked over to him. Alec took a step back. After all he wasn't supposed to be in contact with her. Only a few high up vampires were allowed to talk to her. He was high up but never tasked with taking care of her. Neither was his sister.
Ella stood in front of him and looked up at him before taking his cold hand in her own warm hand. She placed it on her beating heart and he closed his eyes, feeling her heartbeat, taking in the feeling of her blood pumping through her veins. They just stood there for a long while until she was pulled away from the boy who remained frozen as his hand fell back to his side.
She pouted as she was pulled on Caius lap. His face was stone cold but she could see the anger in his eyes. Why was he angry? She didn't know. Hell, she didn't want to know.
After all Ella could remember her past life. She remembers watching the movies made about this world and she knew what his temper was like. Living with the man for five years gave you a pretty good idea of when to NOT push his buttons and she had a feeling now was one of those moments. "I don't want you close to him."
Her pout grew as she leaned back against his chest and he rested his chin on top of her head. "End of discussion, young lady." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms but never made a sound.
Silence passed through the room for a couple of minutes and by now Alec has returned to his spot against the wall. Ella has made herself comfortable on her uncle's lap and was playing with his hand. "Ella, dear... won't you let me look into your mind? I would love to know what you are thinking..." She only shook her head as she looked up at Aro. He sighs loudly and rubs his temple. She refuses to let him touch her now a days. As a small child he didn't feel the need to know what was going on inside her head but now that he wanted to, she was too afraid he would see her past live. She didn't want him to know about that. Not about her job, not how she got in an accident and especially not how she died. So, her best option was to keep saying no to him and avoid contact when possible.
After all, he shouldn't know about what the future might bring. Not about the Cullens, not about Bella and definitely not about Renesmee.
