Thirst.

In the two weeks that we spent here neither Alec nor Jane left my side to hunt. This worried me since there were a lot of vampires here who hated their guts. Alec was sitting beside me on a tree branch while Bella was practicing her gift once again. The wolves would meet everyone later today so everybody would be familiar with each other.

All was well until Jane appeared. Her eyes as black as the night and she seemed to be walking straight for Renesmee. The way she walked was like she was about to pounce at the poor girl and I pushed Alec to stop her. Thankfully he got the hint and pinned her to a tree. The others noticed what was going on and all turned to look at the twins. They were growling and hissing at each other. I quickly rushed over to them and reached out for Jane but she was too far gone. She growled at me like a cornered dog.

Alec used his mist to make her go numb and I pulled a knife from my pocket. "Ella... she is too far gone. She'll kill you." We didn't even notice the attention we attracted nor did we notice the wolves that entered the clearing. "Then use your mist to stop her." I swiped the knife across my neck without a warning and took a numb Jane from Alec's hands. He slowly released her from his mist.

The moment Jane regained her senses she would smell my blood and she grabbed my shoulders painfully. "Ella..." My name left her lips with a soft groan before she sank her teeth in my neck. I stumbled back into a hard chest that belonged to Alec. He guided me and Jane to the ground as I felt my legs become weak and after a few more moments he used his mist to stop Jane from drinking anymore.

Everybody was expecting me to start screaming in pain but I only wince softly as Jane's teeth left my skin. Alec places his lips over the wound and licks up the left-over blood before tearing his shirt and pressing it against the new wound. Another scar to add to the collection. "Ella, are you okay?" I simply nod and hang against him as he retracts his mist.

"Sister! How could you let this happen?!" Jane looks down at the ground in shame and doesn't give us an answer. Soft growling makes us look up and we notice that we are surrounded by wolves. 'Omg! Edward, help!' I slightly panic and push myself harder into Alec as he wraps his arms around me. I pull Jane to us and stop her from making it worse by using her gift. That would only piss them off even more.

There is a blur as Edward flashes in between us and the wolves. "Ella is special. She is immune to the poison and her blood replenishes at an abnormal rate. So yes, she was bitten but not changed." The wolves back up a little until I lock eyes with one of the smaller wolves. It was slightly gray. It stopped walking and studied me, like it was waiting for something to happen.

"Lea... back off." Edward tells her off before she growls at him. She stands beside the rest of her pack and they seem to be having a silent conversation. 'Lea, huh? She seems a lot fluffier than I imagined her to be.' Both me and Edward laugh softly at my thought. "Don't tell her that. She'll have your head." 'Don't forget that I am a human. She isn't allowed to hurt me.' He sighs loudly and shakes his head. "You really fit right in this world, don't you? Do you have anything you fear?" I shake my head with a bright grin and intertwine my hands with those of the twins. 'Not with them around. Nothing will hurt me.'

"Princess... I do need to get a drink, though." Alec's voice darkens the mood as we hear the pain in his voice. 'Please excuse us.' "You're going to let him drink from you as well? Won't that be too much?" I shrug as I pull the twins away into the woods. Little did we know that a furry friend was following us.

After walking for a couple of minutes I stop walking and lean against a tree. I pull the cover from my still open wound. "Alec... make a new mark. Using the old one will hurt too much." Jane stands on the side as she keeps her eyes locked on us. Alec slowly nods and leans down to lick the blood off my shoulder. "You are so addictive..." I giggle softly and pull him into a kiss before guiding his face to my arm. I wince a little as he sinks his teeth into my skin and starts to drink.

After a little while I feel myself go dizzy as I sink to the ground once again. "Alec..." He pulls away without taking another sip and stops me from laying down. "I'm sorry, love." I lean against his body and look at the trees around us, my eyes landing on gray fur. "Hello, Lea..." Jane's eyes snap to the wolf as she flashes between us. "She won't hurt us, Jane. Calm down."

Jane backs away towards me and Alec, never taking her eyes off Lea. While Lea walks behind a tree and gets back to us while only wearing an oversized shirt. "How do you do it?" I just tilt my head in question. "How do you let them feed on you like you're some cow they can milk? How can you love them while they live of your body?" A small smirk forms on my face. "How can't I love them? Hurting me hurts them just as badly but I rather they feed of me then let them kill someone innocent."

Lea sits down beside me while I'm made more comfortable in Alec's lap. Jane joins us on the floor, sitting beside me and Alec. "I know your story Lea. I know about Sam and Emily... about imprinting. I know about the hate that you carry." "You don't know anything!" "Yet, I do. You see... I died once. Someone tried to make me his and I refused... so he ended my life." Before Lea could react, I felt Alec's hold on me tighten and Jane grabbed my collar. "Why don't we know about this?!" "Cause, I am grateful it happened. Afterwards I woke up in your garden. As a one-year old child."

Confusion passes all of their faces as Jane slowly releases me. "Does Marcus... know?" I shake my head. "It explains why you refuse to let Aro touch you... You don't want him to know about all of that." "That... and I don't want him to know about the future. Or at least the part that I am aware of." "I'm not even going to ask..." Jane rubs her temple as Lea leans closer to us. "I don't understand any of this but how... how do you know about me? Are you gifted? But you're still human..." "Lea. I can't answer your questions but know this, you being bitter isn't doing anybody any good. Start with being my friend and spread your love, kay?"

I get up and hold out my hand, Alec stands behind me to keep me steady. Thankfully Lea takes my hand and shakes it. "Okay. I'll be your buddy. You've caught my interest. But don't think that I'm going to like your two lovers. We are still natural enemies." I nodded as Jane got off the floor as well. "Let's make a truce then... you won't bite us and we won't use our gifts on you." Jane holds out her hand for Lea to shake and she doesn't have to wait long. "Deal."
