I was thoroughly enjoying my break from work at home, although I missed Chris an awful lot it was nice to spend some time by myself with my family. Joe, my younger brother was only weeks away from sitting his final exams at school so he was buzzing around the house like a bee in a hive. We did spend a lot of time together when he wasn't revising, though. I loved my brother dearly and I was always fussing over him because I wasn't sure how he was handling our recent bereavement, especially as I wasn't always there with him.

Chris rang me every night as he always did when we had to spend any time away from each other, he told me repeatedly how much he was looking forward to seeing me. I was really nervous to meet his parents, I wasn't sure if they'd be as relaxed as my mother and I doubted they would be. But nonetheless I was looking forward to seeing him again. He told me he'd been busy writing songs and he'd written another one for me. He couldn't wait to share it with me and if See You Soon was anything to by then I was in for a real treat.

I'd gone to band rehearsals with Chris a few more times since that first one. Not every single one, I didn't want to interfere too much but I'd drop in at least once a week, maybe more if they needed my specific opinion on something seeing as I was outside ears, not a musical genius, just another opinion. Like girls showing each other outfits, they showed me their beautiful melodies.

Since my small breakdown in front of Chris he now promised to spend every other evening at least with me, plus we'd see each other at lunch and in our frees. All in all, he was managing his time brilliantly and I was grateful he was willing to accommodate me. But even then I knew it wouldn't last forever, they were too talented. It was a matter of time.

With that cheerful thought still in the back of my mind I sat on the first of the two trains needed to take me to Chris's family home in Devon which was the other side of the world to me but less than a year ago had been pretty much next door. I missed it down there which was part of the reason I went to London to study. And now I wouldn't have to return up North until the summer which made me extremely happy.

I still had another hour on the train before I would have to change onto the other one so I was taking the time as an opportunity to write an essay we had been set for half term with a cup of tea I bought from the on-board shop. I was settled into writing on the quiet coach without a care in the world. I was on the way to see my perfect boyfriend in one of the places I adored most in this country. Perfect.

I saw Chris before he saw me. He was talking to someone who I assumed was his father, I practically ran to him, calling his name and tugging my bulky case behind me. His face lit up and he greeted me.

"How's my girl been? I missed you so much, love."  He smiled into my shoulder as we embraced. It was a bit awkward seeing as his father was stood there and both of us had just sort of ignored him. But we ended the hug and I was introduced. His dad was actually really nice and not as uptight as I was expecting. Chris insisted on taking care of my case, using one of his huge hands to wheel it along with ease and the other to wrap around my hand as we walked to the car.

Their house was huge and almost as beautiful as my old one. I loved it. It was already dark by the time I arrived so most of Chris's siblings were in bed. They weren't as old as us, Chris was the oldest/ I got introduced to one of his brothers and his mother before they left Chris to show me upstairs.

"Where am I sleeping?" I whispered, eager to know the answer as we ascended the seemingly endless staircase, Chris insisted on taking my case, which he was currently heaving up the stairs.

"To my surprise, they didn't seem to have a problem with us...y'know...sharing a room and all that. I think they figured out we've been at college for months together anyway and I mean we'll be back next week, so what does it matter. Anyway we're in the spare room. My room is a dump." He laughed breathlessly as we arrived at the top of the stairs, running a hand through his curly, though slightly shorter, Afro.
