As protocol dictated — Commander Will Riker would not have it any other way — especially when the enemy is the Dark-side of the Force, was down on the surface of Tython. As it was legendary that Captain James T. Kirk always went with the away team, Starfleet had a new objective that the Captain stayed on his ship unless necessary. Captain Picard always followed orders, but he was not a Captain for nothing. He found ways to go on more missions, even if his Number One or Starfleet got their curlers in a bind.

Commander Riker knew that Picard would come down eventually, but he wanted to survey this planet first. The more he knew what was down here, the better it would be to perform his duties in protecting his captain from any dangers. As many times, Picard called him a mother hen in one way or the other, but after experiencing him nearly turning into a Borg right under his bloody nose and witness to all the destruction he caused as Locutus of Borg, he promised himself no more harm like that ever again. Since he has been informed a great deal of Darth Sidious and Vader, there could be more dangers in store.

After Commander Data examined the Stargate extensively, he said, "Jack O'Neill, I am very impressed with how this works. If we had the luxury, I would like to do more studies."

"I can give you all the schematics, but that won't allow you to know half of what we know until you travel through it. Later on, you will go to Earth through the thing. To be honest with you, I thought you were going to Earth and come here through the Stargate. Don't get me wrong, I am honored to have the opportunity to be on the Enterprise."

Commander Riker smiled and said, "It was good to have you on board."

Jack got a bit nervous and asked, "I hope I'm not out of line, but where is my future self. I hope he has not done anything stupid."

Riker grinned, "Not at all. He was left on Earth to run the Stargate there. The Asgards, with the help of Data, modify the transporters to act very similar to the Stargate." He gave that confused look, "Believe me. I have no damn clue how they did all that."

Jack smiled, "I just let the scientists do their jobs and hopefully stand out of the way — especially with Sam."

She smiled, "You do a great deal, too, for the SGC. That is why you are running it here on Tython." She looked at the others and said, "General Paul Davis is running things on Earth. I need or should say wanted, Jack here at my side."

As Data was looking around, he realized that Stauron was not with them. Before he could ask, Jack said, "Since the Cathars have a liking to Vulcans, he and a couple of Vulcan friends, of his, are with them talking about setting up some kind of alliance between this Starfleet of yours and this planet."

Sam said, "Wow! Vulcans are very intelligent to get the Cathars to move that quickly."

Riker stated, "They are very logical, too. I can't see anyone better to bridge our contribution to this star wars of yours. I hope everything works out grand. We can't do much of anything if this galaxy is against us."

Sam said, "Once everyone else on other worlds can see the people of Tython being serious on dealing with the ancient past of the Jedi Knights, then other star systems will join in very soon."

Commander Data said, "At your convenience, please give us all the information you can of these star systems and anything else you can give us that would be very helpful for our cause."

Jack ordered someone to do just that. He continued, "Once the information is gathered, I'll have it sent up to the Enterprise ASAP."

Cassandra said, "I have shared a great deal already, but that was mostly from our past that my sister and I came from."
