Chapter 17: Life and Death
[[Dedication. Stardate- February 28, 2015: As we all know by now of the death of the most iconic man in science fiction, Leonard Nimoy. When Star Trek was created, the science behind it was fiction from the start. If it was not for this man to play the Vulcan, Spock, the show might not have been a great hit as it is today. If it were not for this one television show, I believe we would not have the scientific advancements we have today to prove that what technology they used on the show can be a scientific fact today.
I also believe that we would not have the science fiction shows as we have today with either Star Wars or Stargate SG1 if it were not for the success of Star Trek so long ago with those immortal words, "Live long and prosper," by Spock/Lenard Nimoy.

[[Dedication. Stardate- July 30, 2022: Another iconic actress that is loved by all has fallen — Nichelle Nichols. She played the best character in Star Fleet, Nyota Uhura. An individual that I would say was a person that could match Carrie Fisher's character, Princess Leia in the Star Wars universe. Many have fallen from both of these universes, and they all too should be recognized. I dread to think of how both these science fiction shows would have turned out if these wonderful actors were not there to play their roles to enlighten us all.
As George Lucas had said, "If it were not for Star Trek, there would be no Star Wars." If it were not for these two actors and the others from Star Wars, how would our lives have turned out? I don't think it would be anything close to how our lives are like this very day despite the adversities and mayhem that hit us constantly. May the Force be with them all. THANK YOU!!
With the title of this chapter, I could not have a better place to show my respect for these two immortal individuals — Leonard Nimoy, who was truly half human and half Vulcan in where it counts. Nichelle Nichols, who was truly a communication officer to us all. These dedications will be posted long after their deaths, but I hope it is just as memorable. Thank you both for entering into our lives. You will both be missed, but never forgotten.]]
Both Star Trek and Star Wars allowed us to join as one on one blue planet because we were meant to live as one. Yes, both traveled through the stars, but we are meant to live as one on one planet.
The prejudices people feel about each other disappear when they get to know each other. — Captain Kirk
Perhaps man wasn't meant for paradise. Maybe he was meant to claw, to scratch all the way. — Captain Kirk
Our species can only survive if we have obstacles to overcome. You remove those obstacles. Without them to strengthen us, we will weaken and die. — Captain Kirk
Live long and prosper! — Spock~~~~~
Jack knew he had to tread carefully. With everything Sam was dealing with, he didn't want to pressure her. Yet, the way she bottled things up worried him. He was learning to sense her emotions, and the intensity was terrifying. As her commanding officer, he couldn't let her internal struggles fester. But more importantly, as the man who loved her, he couldn't bear to see her suffer in silence.
Time crawled by. Finally, unable to bear the silence any longer, he surged towards her. Yet, as he drew closer, his steps faltered. With a gentleness that surprised even him, he reached out. Still facing away, she spoke, her voice laced with a hint of bitterness, "I was beginning to think you'd avoid this forever."
He smiled, "Awe, you were waiting on me before talking?"
She turned and looked at him, "You're the most important thing in my life right now — under Cassie... especially knowing she is my long-lost Sister."
