I awoke to Anya shaking me to wake up.

"Get up, you lazy shit!" She said, continuing to shake me. I awoke and went directly to check on Venessa. I examined her wound, and to my surprise, it healed.

"I'll leave her be, just to make sure." I whispered to myself. I walk outside, grab the sword from the side of the house, and I pick up the shield.

"I should go back that one ca- Wait..." I look around Anya's forge, and I find an old, rusty, but still filled oil lantern. I attach it to my waist, and start walking towards the cave I saw a while back.

After an hour of wandering, I managed to finally find the cave. I lit the lantern, and attached it to my waist again.

"Here we go..." I murmured, walking slowly into the cave. After a while, I started to see differences in the stone I walked on. It started to seem smoother, like if it was weathered.

I renewed my grip on both the sword and shield when I heard another hiss. Not one quick sharp hiss, but a prolonged, softer hiss.

I widened my stance, and raised my shield. Prepared for the worst, I waited...

        ...And waited...

                ... And waited...

I hear the hiss again, in front of me. I pass my sword to my shield hand, and grab my lantern. I raise it up, and see another being, all green... four legs... No arms...

"You are one ugly mother fucker..." I say, causing it to turn around. It has wide, soulless eyes, a gaping, frowning mouth, and it started to walk towards me. I followed my first instinct, tossed up my lantern, caught it by the side, and threw it as hard as I could at the beast. It went ablaze, then exploded, showering me with blood and gore. I wipe some blood from my eye, and hear another hiss. This one from behind me. I pass my sword back to my empty hand, then quickly acted like I didn't hear it.

Much to my surprise, however, I felt a small hand on my shoulder.

"Mister, are you lost?" A young female voice said. I lowered my guard, and I turned around. In the darkness, I could barely see her face, save for her amber eyes.

"Uh... Well, I can barely see..." I told her, with my eyes starting to adjust to the darkness. She grabbed a hold of my upper arm, which I immediately shook her off.

"If you want help, you'll have to trust me. Okay?" The girl said, and I nodded. She grabbed my upper arm, and started to lead me somewhere.

"C'mon, just a bit further!" She exclaimed happily. I was dragged along, oblivious to what was happening. After a short while, I saw sunlight tearing its way through the cave's darkness. The girl let go of my arm, and I turned to face her.

"Thanks," I told her. "I'm pretty sure I would've been here for a while without your help." She sets her hands in her lap and bows, then walks back into the darkness. I decide I should go wash off.

I reached the lake I saw when I first arrived in this strange land, so I kneeled down next to it. I cupped my hands together, scooped up some water, and splashed it on my face.

"Disgusting creature... Showers me with blood and spit... But it is now dead." I said in haiku. I stood back up, and looked towards Wolfthorne, wondering what to do next. I decided to return to Anya's, and see if there was anything that needed doing. Upon my return, however, things weren't the same.

        Everything was burning.
