Janay in media
"It's just business"
one year later...
Aria
"Blue or burgundy?" I whispered to myself. One of Dave's cousins was having a birthday back in New York this weekend. So here I was shopping for a new outfit. For some reason, I hate online shopping. I have to see it in person and feel it out before I buy it.
I help the blue velvet over the knee heel against my thigh, before dropping it and doing the same with the burgundy one.
"The blue looks good on you baby." With the accemt catching me off guard, I turned around to see a girl slightly taller than me smiling at me.
"Thanks." I smiled back.
"No problem. I'm Janay." She stuck out her hand.
"Aria. You from around here? I've never seen you before." I said shaking her hand and studying her.
She was a cute girl, and she looked around my age. I've definitely never seen her before.
"Nah, I'm from Nawlins." She chuckled, making her accent jump out again.
"I went there a few summers ago. I love it there."
"Me too. But I had ta' leave. Not much left for me there." Her eyes traveled off. I figured it was a touchy subject.
"Well, I'm sure you'll make some good memories here." I cheesed.
"I hope so." She cheesed back looking over me once again. I raised my eyebrow but shrugged it off.
"Special event?" She asked sitting in the chair next to the mirror.
"Kind of. It's my boyfriend's cousins birthday party." Her chin lifted.
"Boyfriend? Damn, I always go for the straight ones." She said causing my eyes to bulge.
"Oh my God you-.."
"Gay? As fuck baby." She smirked biting her lip.
"I'm sorry. I have a boyfriend."
"I ain't trippin luh' baby. You ain't the only fish in the sea." We laughed.
"I'm the best fish tho." I said popping my hip out in the mirror. We both laughed causing the whole boutique to turn and look at us.
"We can be friends. You funny as hell." She said.
"Good, cause I don't have any."
"Me neither. I fucked all my luh' friends. Made they ass turn crazy." She said palming her face.
A loud ding rang through the store, indicating someone just entered.
In walked Makiya. I haven't seen or heard from her since our argument last year. She's been writing subliminal posts and trying to get a reaction out of me through TheShadeRoom, but I ignore it.
I thought I seen it all until Kianna walked in behind her. They talked amongst each other as they walked through the store.
"I can tell by your face we don't like them huh?" Janay asked.
"My ex-bestfriend and my boyfriends babymama."
"Oh nah, babymama drama. I been going thru' that wit' ma lil' brotha. Need me to whoop ha ass?" She said looking through her purse.
"No Janay." I laughed.
"They ain't worth it." She smacked her lips.
"Well, just give me the word. I'll whoop both they ass. But what else you wearing to this luh' party?"
