Scotty was wrong.
Completely, utterly wrong.
Just a second after we arrive in the ship, we hear a Romulan shout out something I can’t understand. We quickly look over and see a few Romulans pull out their phasers. We immediately pull out ours and they begin in shooting at us. We run across one of the platforms and shoot back at them, hitting a few Romulans. We’re separated now, I see Jim running along behind a few controls, pipes, and wires, Spock does the same somewhere else. A Romulan shoots at me and I duck behind a set of controls. A moment later I straighten up and shoot at the Romulan, after firing once, I hit my target and he falls down.
“Natasha!” Jim calls. I turn towards where I hear his voice coming from over the commotion and see him standing with Spock, waiting for me. I run across the platform towards them as fast as I can, shooting back at a few Romulans along the way.
As soon as I reach Jim and Spock, we continue running along the machines and controls and pipes and wires. We run down a small set of stairs and fire back at each Romulan. We run throughout the warehouse or wherever the hell we are in the ship, I’m guessing Jim and Spock aren’t sure where to go either. All I know is that this needs to end soon.
I run ahead of Jim and Spock and duck down behind a large metal pipe or tube. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but I don’t care as long as it’s good cover. Jim and Spock crouch down next to me and the three of us simultaneously rise up onto our knees above the tube and fire back.
I manage to hit every target in one hit, whether or not the Romulan is running or standing his ground. Jim and Spock have an easy time hitting a standstill Romulan, but a harder time hitting a Romulan attempting to shoot at us and dodge our phasers at the same time.
A moving target is always harder to it.
At this point, knowing this definitely needs to end soon, I look over at Jim.
“When they’re all mostly still, shoot them.” I say to him. He gives me a questioning look. “You’ll see.” I reply, then stand up and shoot at least five Romulans. There are ten left. I leap over the tube before either Jim or Spock can stop me.
“Natasha! What the hell are you doing?” Jim shouts.
I run towards the nearest Romulan, who stands right by a giant column completely covered with wires. He looks at me and aims his phaser at me. Before he can shoot, I dodge to the side, then leap up some small set of stairs. I grab the wrist holding his phaser with one hand, and squeeze the pressure point between the thumb and index finger. The Romulan cries out in pain and drops the phaser.
At the same time I swing my arm across him and press the end of my phaser up against his jaw. I stand behind him and back up against the wall so my back is pressed against the wires. I look over his shoulder at the nine other Romulans who cry out and aim every single phaser in my direction.
“Lower your weapons, or I shoot!” I shout. I glance over at Jim and Spock, who stare at me. I look back at the Romulans. “Lower your weapons!” I repeat. “Or I will shoot!” I push my phaser a little harder against the Romulan’s neck.
A moment of silence.
Suddenly the Romulan I stand behind lurches forward and down, sending me flying over him and landing roughly on my back on the ground. I’m looking up at him now. My phaser has landed on the ground right next to the Romulan, who stoops down and swiftly picks it up and points it directly at my head.
Without hesitation, I shout, “Now!” To Jim and Spock. They both rise up again and shoot at the rest of the Romulans, who shoot back at them.
Right as the Romulan who threw me over his back, fires the phaser, I quickly roll to the side but forget where I am and instead of landing on solid ground, I end up rolling down the stairs.
