Chapter 4: Ashton

I slowly open my eyes only to find out that I'm in my own room. How did i get here ? The last thing i remember was me crying. And the boy. That boy that wouldn't leave me alone. Im sure it was the boy from the store ! I recognized his voice. Why did he stay with me ? I had so many questions. Did he bring me home ?

I checked on my phone and i saw a text from moose.

Hey dude , are you okay ? You didn't sound really well yesterday...

I opened the window and threw my phone out of it. I heard a moan of pain. I looked from the window and i saw that Josie was in the yard. "What the heck Kevin ! For a moment i thought it was raining smartphones" Josie yelled towars my dirction. I started laughing. This was actually funny.

I got dressed and walked downstairs to eat some breakfast. I poured some milk in a bowl , puted it in the microwave and when it was hot i added some cereal. "Care to explain why you threw your phone at Josie ?" My dad asked while reading the newspaper. "I dont need it" i exclaimed while eating.

"And why not ?" My dad looked up from his newspaper. "I don't have any friends anyways so i don't need it" i answered finishing my cereal. "That's not true. Your friend brought you home last night. I forgot to ask his name." My father said. My friend ? Oh wait so that boy brought me home ! That explains alot.

I just walked away. I quickly brushed my teeth and started walking to school today. I didn't wait for Josie to get ready , i just wanted to walk alone for a little. It took me a half hour to arrive at school. There weren't many kids yet since it was still early.

I walked inside and got to my locker. I was trying to open it when i suddenly got slammed against it. "What the-"

"I know that you know where Fangs went ! And don't you dare to lie to me cause i don't believe shit about you not knowing anything !" Sweet pea yelled towards me. "I-i dont know where he is Sweet pea." I said my voice shaking. "Stop lying !" Sweet pea yelled while he punched the locker next to mine. The others that were in the hallway were now looking towards us.

"You took him away ! How could you. You and those idiots brainwashed my best friend ! I'm searching for weeks" he said angryly pushing me against the locker harder. "Dude leave him alone !" Someone pushed Sweet Pea away from we. "Mind your own business new boy" Sweet Pea said to the boy. It was the same boy from the store. Again.

"Leave him alone or else i will call the principal." The boy said. Sweet Pea just glared towards us and walked away. "Hey , are you okay ?" The boy asked me. I nodded. "Thanks." I smiled. "It's nothing" he answered.

"Why do you keep doing that ?" I asked him. "What do you mean ?" He asked. He had a confused look on is face. "Well right now you helped me. Why ? You dont even know me." I answered.

"I did it cause nobody deserves to get treated the way he was treating you. And since none of those suckers " he said the words suckers loudly looking toward the other in the hallway. "were doing anything i decided to jump in." He answered.

"What about yesterday?" I asked him. "You really needed someone. Even though you kept pushing me away i felt in your voice that you needed some company. You needed a friend and i wanted to help" he smiled.

"I'm Kevin. " i introduced myself. "Oh i know that." He laughed.  "Really , how so?" I asked cruiously. "Oh, i saw it on you phone yesterday. Sorry i know that sounds creepy. " he said and i laughed.

"I'm Ashton" he said. "But you can call me Ash." He smiles. "Nice to meet you Ash!" I closed my locker. "Do you maybe want to hang out ? I mean after school unless you have to do anything. I don't really know anyone here. And i would like to get to know you. You seem interesting." Ash said to me. "Interesting ? And sure , it would be my pleasure." I smiled.

"See you later." He waved and got lost in the crowd of students. I sighed. I don't really know Ashton but he seems really nice. He is kinda weird but that's what i like about him. I walked towards the other direction and i got inside the chemistry class. I wanted to sit alone but sadly the only empty seat was next to Archie. I went and sat next to him.

"Hey." I greeted him but i didn't get a response back. It actually broke my heart even though i didn't have a huge crush on him like i used to have when i was fifteen years old. "Fine i guess." I sighed and took my notebook out. "Dude how am i supposed to greet you after everything you did ?" The ginger boy whispered to me.

"I'm not the only one who did things Ginger head but y'all seem to forget that. So if you don't have anything nice to say would nicely ask you to fuck off." I said annoyed. I could see from the right side of my eye that Veronica was ear dropping our conversation. Archie didn't talk anymore and he got out of the classroom as quick as he could when the bell rang.

I started walking out when i hear Veronica yelling my name but i just kept walking. "Hey Kevin!" She said but i just kept waking. "What do you want Veronica ?" I asked annoyed as i got in the student lounge that was empty. She grabbed my arm to make me stop waking.

"You know , the way you talked towards Archie wasn't really nice." Veronica said. I turned around. "Oh really ? But everyone treating me like monster is nice ? Bye Veronica." I said and started walking away but she got in front of me. "Well you did many things-" she started but i interrupted her.

"Many things ? Its seems like y'all have been forgetting that ive always but always been there for all of you when you had problems even if i was feeling like shit and y'all never even thanked me for that." I yelled. "But where were you ?" I asked her.

"What ?" She asked me. "Where were you ? When i was struggling with seeing Moose dating another girl while he fooled around with me. Where were y'all when i found out Joaquin was dead ? The time Moose left me for a second time ? I needed y'all Veronica but nobody gave a shit about me !" I said angrily. Veronica started tearing up. "Kevin..." But i interrupted her again.

"And i should be the one apologizing to Betty ? While she has treated me like shit so many times and never even properly apologized for calling me a slut when i was out of the woods ? You all gave me no choice but to join the Farm cause they actually made me feel like they cared." I was now shaking out of anger.

A tear fell from Veronicas eye. "I-i didn't know that Kevin..." She said and her voice cracked. "Exactly ! Nobody knows shit about what I've been through. Now if you excuse me." I said and walked away. I had enough talking for today.

"Hey Kevin , is everything okay ? I though i heard you yelling." Josie said. "Leave me alone Josie." I said and i walked out of school.  I sat under a tree and waited there till school was over so that i could go out with Ashton. Till now he is the only one that cared about me.
