Chapter 5: Something Unexpected

I forgot about everything when i saw Ashton walking towards my way when the last bell rang. He waved towards me as he came closer. "Did you have a free period ? Cause there is no way you could get outside that fast." He laughed. "Yeah kinda." I didn't want to tell him i had a fight with Veronica. He would think im problematic. Am i though ? I don't even know!

"Do you want to go to pop's? I always go there in my free time." I asked him. He nodded "sure , I've been there a few times, its nice there." He smiled. I grabbed my bag and we started walking towards pop's. It wasn't far away from our school.

On the other side of the sidewalk i saw Ethel walking towards her place all alone. You know i kinda feel bad for her cause i know exactly how it feels being lonely. All she wants is a friend. From the sky i could see that a storm was coming, not soon but it was. There were dark clouds above sweetwater river.

I had a feeling that something bad would happen , not exactly with me but yeah. I always feel like that when the weather was this weird. While walking towards pop's me and Ashton played the twenty one question game and i basically asked him about his favorite color and his favorite artists and things like that and honestly i loved all of his answers.

"Its Green. Since i was little i loved that color cause i always felt safe with it. It's weird but green makes me feel like i can be myself. And its also the color of nature. I love nature and it's my safe place so i guess its all kind of connected." He analysed things so much , i loved it.

The familiar bell ringed as i opened the door of the chocklitshop. As expected in one of the booths were Veronica , Archie ,Betty and and Jughead sitting drinking their after school milkshake. Veronica saw me walking in but she looked away as if she was scared to face me after our conversation earlier today and she just took a sip from her strawberry milkshake.

We sat in one of the last booths in the shop. I ordered a cheeseburger with French fries cause i was starving and a strawberry milkshake while Ashton ordered pancakes with white chocolate and crisped cookies on top of it.

"So what was that about in the morning ? With that boy ?" Ashton asked curiously. I sighed thinking about it again. "You don't have to answer though if you are not comfortable enough telling me yet." He quickly added afterwards. "Nah it's fine." And that's when i started telling him about everything that happened to me those last months. The farm , me being brainwashed and doing some horrible things and how im trying to recover right now.

"Im sorry that you had to go through that all alone Kevin." Ashton took a sip from his vanilla milkshake. "I want to help you get over it." He looked me into the eyes. "How would you do that ?" I asked him and took a bite from my hamburger.

"Oh , ive though of some things. You should bring me to that building where "The Farm" took place." He told me. I just nodded. I guess he was curious about the events after i told him everything that happened.

"Well now that I've told you everything about me its time for you to expose yourself." I said looking curiously towards my direction.

"Well my full name is Ashton Alejandro García my family is Latin and im from a small town called 'orto incendio'." That explained his olive color skin that looked lighter when it was under the sunlight. "So you are Latino huh? You should help me with my spanish homework then." I joked. "Oh no dude , i suck at spanish. My parents and my sister are way better at it." He laughed.
