What About You?

 Jeff had been acting weird towards Natalie all day and she had no idea why. Even this morning when they woke up, he didn't say a word to her before he left to go back to his house, and it's not like the other people in the room couldn't feel the tension between the two. So when David told her that she could take a break she went straight to Jeff's house to talk to him.

She was really anxious as she drove over there, she had no idea what she had done to make him upset with her. It took him a couple minutes to answer the door after she knocked the first time and when he opened it, he had an emotionless expression on his face and it made her really upset.

"Can we talk?" she asked while fiddling with her fingers, there was no doubt that she was nervous about what could happen. He let out a sigh before moving to the side so she could walk in the house. She walked over to the couch and sat down facing where he would be sitting.

It was silent for a moment after he sat down and then she asked, "Did I do something wrong?" He didn't want to be mad at her, hell it wasn't even anything she did; he was just jealous.

He was jealous that her and David were so close that the fans ship it, and then this morning he saw the picture David posted of the two of them at a fair on his disposable account. He shook his head at her before saying, "You didn't do anything. What are you talking about?"

"You haven't said a single word to me all day. You know it's bad when other people start to notice it too, David even asked me if something happened between us but I couldn't give him an answer because I don't know what's wrong either." He rolled his eyes and it didn't go unnoticed by Natalie. She felt her eyes fill with tears but she tried her hardest to keep them from falling.

"Just tell me what I did, please, so I can fix it," she pleaded and it hurt him to see her breaking down.

He sighed before answering, "Is there anything going on between you and David?" He knew he shouldn't have asked that when he saw her face shift from sad to hurt.

"You think I'm cheating on you with David?" Natalie had never felt so disgusted, David was her best friend but she would never be more than friends with him.

Jeff didn't really know how to answer her question but he had to try because silence wouldn't solve anything. "Can you really blame me? All I see on social media is people shipping the two of you together and there's a lot of evidence that could prove it."

Was he being serious? He was mad at her because of fans shipping her with David?

"That's really why you're mad at me? Because fans ship us together?" she paused to take a breath and noticed that he wasn't going to disagree with those questions, "What about you?"

He looked at her in confusion, what about him?

"I see people shipping you with Kelsey everyday but I don't accuse you of cheating on me. That's honestly ridiculous, Dave has been my best friend for years and nothing more than that."

"You know there is nothing going on between Kelsey and I," he knew she had a point but he couldn't stop the feeling of jealousy.

"Because I trust you when you say there isn't. If you want to accuse me of cheating because you don't trust me then go ahead, but I won't sit around waiting for you to realize that you are in the wrong," she walked over to the door to put her shoes on and turned around to say one last thing, "I'm going home so message me when you get your mind set."

Natalie was hurt when she walked out of his front door and he didn't even try to stop her. She took off in her car towards her home, but she couldn't go inside yet as she sat in her car crying for the next half hour; and she didn't know that Jeff was also crying because he knew he fucked up when she walked out that door.
