DRACO'S POV

"So tell me Draco how did you meet Bria?" I was sitting around the island with Bria while her mom finished up her brownies; which smelt amazing by the way.

"Oh I was just walking down the neighbourhood and she happened to be outside reading; and a conversation just sparked up" her mother nodded; putting the brownies in the oven.

"Where do you go to school?"

"I go to a private school near Scotland" her eyebrows raised,

"Wow that's quite a distance" I shrugged,

"It is but I don't mind" I looked over at Bria and she smiled at me; I knew she was nervous of being embarrassed but I actually liked her mom. She had a right to feel protected when her daughter suddenly befriends a boy she doesn't know.

"Well it's nice to meet you, Bria told us that you weren't going to be here until Christmas Break?" I nodded; giving her the same excuse that I told Bria.

'You mean the same lie' shut up!

"We finished our last lesson early so they decided to let us go home early" she smiled and nodded; believing me just like Bria.

I just-I just feel so guilty.

'Well you should, you're lying straight to her face' but it's for the best; if she finds out what I am then I'll get in huge trouble and they'll erase her memory. It sucked, did I want to tell her I was a wizard? Yes, this would make things so much easier. But, then I would still have to hide certain things about it; like how I'm a Death Eater now. So, it's just better that she doesn't know anything.

I looked up, watching the oven go off. The brownies were ready and I was just noticing the smell; they smelt even more delicious when cooked. I watched as Bria's mom got three plates and put two brownies on each; she handed one to me and another to Bria. I watched as she walked to the fridge and poured us all a glass of milk.

"Thank you Mrs. Rose" I said; biting into the first brownie. I was in heaven. I didn't realize how good brownies could taste; they were almost melting in my mouth.

"Oh my god these are amazing" I covered my mouth as some crumbs tried escaping my mouth; Bria and her mom laughed.

"Well I'm glad someone else likes them; why don't you take some home with you?" I began shaking my head; I didn't want to take their food and I also didn't know how I would hide it from my parents.

"Oh no I can't just take some-" She shook her head as she already got a bag ready.

"I'm not taking no for an answer; I made too much anyway" I sighed but smiled and nodded in thanks as I watched her make it up for me. I wish my family was like this; so loving. I can't even remember the last time my family and I all sat at the same table together for dinner.

"So what do you want to do while you're here?" I shrugged my shoulders; I didn't really know what there was to do in the Muggle world.

"Have you ever been to Westfield London?" I shook my head and she smiled,

"Looks like that's what we're doing" she got up and grabbed her jacket off of the chair that she was sitting on. Shoving her boots on she waited as I did the same.

"Mom we'll be back later!"

"Okay just be back before dark" she rolled her eyes at me but agreed.

We stepped outside and I felt the cold air brush against my cheeks; hopefully this Westfield London place wasn't too far away.

"I haven't gotten my licence yet so we'll have to walk; but the good thing is, is we aren't too far away" I nodded as we made our way down the street; we passed the place where those two men were and passed Sobey's. I clenched my fists at the thought of those two men; if I hadn't of been there Bria wouldn't of had a happy outcome. That made me nervous for her; if I got this worked up over two Muggles than what would happen if she ended up in my world? It's not the same; some witches and wizards feel no remorse over killing people like Bria. I couldn't even imagine how I would react if Bria was put in any danger because of me.

I've been debating on distancing myself with her; it would keep her safe but I'm also having a rally hard time; I've never felt like this for anyone before. She makes it feel so...natural? And it would be really hard for me to stay happy if I'm away from her; this is the type of affect that she has on me.

"What are you thinking about?" I blinked and looked down; seeing Bria looking up at me curiously.

"Nothing really" she raised a brow at me,

"Really? You know Draco you're my first friend, and I like you, but a part of being friends is opening up to one another; so tell me what's bugging you? Maybe I could help?" I looked away, she really wouldn't understand. I couldn't tell her for obvious reasons; but that made it so much harder.

"It's nothing Bri, just drop it" I didn't mean for it to come out so harshly; but I knew it was too late when I saw the hurt flash across her face before she looked down.

It was silent now, I didn't like it. I reached out and put my arm around her shoulder and gave it a light squeeze.

"Sorry Bria, I didn't mean to be so hars-" she waved me off and smiled but it looked off.

""It's fine Draco, we are still getting to know each other; I didn't mean to try and pry things out of you" I smiled and shook my head,

"It's not you Bri, I've just had a lot on my mind lately" she put her hand on top of mine and smiled; I tried to ignore the sparks.

"I understand; you can always come to me if you want to talk" she let go of my hand and didn't say anything else after that. I wanted to try and change the subject because she still looked kind of upset.

"I like your mom, she's really nice" she laughed and hid her face in her hands.

"She's so embarrassing; I'm sorry she kept nagging you with questions" she peaked through her hands,

"I didn't mind honestly, I liked talking with her. And her cooking skills are amazing!" she giggled,

"Yeah she used to want to own her own bakery shop" I raised a brow,

"What stopped her?" she pointed to herself,

"Me, I must've been too much to handle" we both chuckled until it was silent again,

"What are your parents like?" my breathing hitched and excuses wracked in my brain; what was I supposed to tell her? She saw my distress and put her hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry I just thought because we were on the topic-"

"-No, no it's fine! My parents are...okay. I don't really have as much of a relationship with them" she frowned,

"No? I'm sorry to hear that" I shrugged,

"It's fine, it's been like that for most of my life. My father is always strict and my mother doesn't have time for me anymore. They're always so busy with their...jobs; and often times I'm arguing with my father about things that he and I don't agree on" she nods,

"He always tells me that what he's doing is what's best for me but I know that it isn't" she looked up; deep in thought.

"Well what if he does think he's doing what's right for you? I mean depending on the situation he might not think there's any other option. Anyone can make mistakes Draco; Maybe you just need to guide your dad back into the right path" I never thought about it like that; and even though I had doubts that my dad would change I still gave her a smile and thanked her.

I saw her arm in front of my face; signalling me to stop. Once I did she turned to me and then pointed to a huge building.

"Draco, this is Westfield London; my favorite mall"

Mall?

"What's that?" she blinked at me but instead of laughing like she usually did she just smiled.

"A mall is where you go shopping, buy clothes, eat fast food, it's where just about everyone our age hangs +out"

This building sold clothes and food?

Why did that sound like fun?
