Chapter Twelve: Fighting For What's Right

DRACO'S POV

I was sitting with Blaise as we listened to the screams above us; the war started a couple of hours ago and we're still locked down here. Parkinson is complaining about not being able to fight with her parents, Nott is upset that he can't kill anyone, and Crabbe and Goyle are playing a game of wizards chess. Blaise looked at me and I shrugged; I thought it was bizarre that they could play a game at a time like this.

I heard footsteps running down the stairs; Bellatrix came into view. A lot of people cheered; they wanted to fight as well. She unlocked the door with a spell and everyone ran out; before I could rush passed her though she grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Draco where are you going?"

"I want to fight" her grip tightened on me,

"You should stick with me and Fernier; your parents want us to keep an eye on you" I shook my way out of her grip and I backed up,

"I'm fine Bellatrix" she frowned and I shook my head,

"I'll be with Blaise, Goyle, and Nott; you can trust me" she didn't say anything but she let me go; I don't know if I convinced her but I was glad she didn't try and stop me anymore.

I soon met up with Blaise, Goyle and Nott and we continued are way threw the halls. Most places were deserted now; the war mostly being taken place outside. We made it to a clearing by the Astronomy tower and that's where I saw Brianna; I thought third year and under were supposed to be taken home? I saw that she was backed up in a corner; barely able to keep up with the two death eaters. I saw Nott lift his wand up to strike her but I quickly disarmed him and shot a spell towards one of the men; they turned around and I saw Augustus Rookwood and Igor Karkaroff. Augustus was at our Christmas Party last year and Igor was here during fourth year. I quickly shot a spell at Igor; flying across the room he fell unconscious. My friends looked at me like I was insane but immediately shot spells at Augustus because he thought that they were on my side. Blaise disarmed him and I yelled Stuplify; slamming into the wall he too was on the floor now.

It was silent for a moment before Nott turned to me; his face scrunched up in anger. He stormed his way over to me and grabbed me by my collar; hoisting me up against a wall.

"What was that for Malfoy?! Are you trying to get us all killed?!" I punched him in the face and he dropped me; stumbling backwards while grabbing his face. He shook his head twice before locking eyes with me; his face a little red. He tried punching me but Blaise grabbed him by the scruff of his shirt and threw him back.

"We're not here to fight each other; back off Nott" Nott scoffed but turned away from Draco; Blaise turned and flung his hands to his side.

"What the heck man?!" I shrugged and looked over at Brianna who was now walking over to us. She stopped beside me and looked up at Blaise; stuck her tongue out and grabbed onto my hand. I smiled down at her and lightly squeezed it.

"Who's side are you on?" Crabbe asked, walking towards me; Brianna shrunk back and I put a hand in front me; asking him to stop.

"What seems right to me" before they could answer we saw Potter, Granger and Weasley run by; stopping in front of the wall. There, we watched as a door appeared in front of our eyes; I remember that being the Room of Requirement. When Umbridge found out about it two years ago we had to go with her and catch Potter and his group. That was when I first started noticing how much I didn't like how my family was.

"Come on let's follow them" I rolled my eyes as I watched Crabbe, Nott and Goyle run towards the room; slipping inside before the door shut. I looked over at Blaise who shrugged and followed them.
