Can you even call this angst I guess you can but here is my try.
You had been helping Shuichi get with Kaede. You had done simple things. You would try to get them alone, "ditch" them when you had plans set up. It hurt. It really did, you liked Shuichi.You had a sliver of hope that they wouldn't share the same feelings for each other. Mabye, just mabye she would like Rantaro or even Miu. But then mabye not. .

The bell rang singling school was over. When the bell rang Shuichi walked over to you."H-hey um (Y/N) I dont think I'm going to need your help one more time" Shuichi had came up to you. "Sure whatcha need" you secretly wished it wasn't about Kaede "it's about Kaede-". Dang it. "I decided to finally ask her out". You knew it was coming but it still hurt. "O-oh how wonderful I hope she says yes". You managed to speak thought gritted teeth while holding the urge to cry. Shuichi had ran after Kaede but before he could go you called out to him "SHUICHI, good luck" you smiled at him giving him a sad thumbs up. "T-thanks (Y/N)" he waved bye before leaving the classroom. You started packing up your things before leaving
As you walked to your locker you felt a pair of arms wrap around you waist. "Seems like (Y/N)-chan is sad" "hey Kokichi". Kokichi had been your childhood friend since kindergarten. Kokichi knew about your crush on the detective he would sometimes tease you about but when he knew it was time to stop he would. "DEGENERATE MALE." It was Tenko she was your roommate so you were destined to be friend with her. She was nice but she wouldn't really like you hanging around kokichi but she knew you were good friends.
"Hey Tenko, what are you doing" "saving you from this degenerate male!" "You guys want to go to a cafe or something." If you knew one thing they had in common it was they both liked going to cafes.
When you guys had made it to the cafe and ordered you drinks you got a text
Emo detective
'You won't believe what she said'
'Did she say yes'
'Yeah, thank you (y/n) for Your help' 'No need to thank me I'm glad I was. able to make you happy'
You had not noticed before but when you were finished texting you were crying "Was it Shuichi?" Kokichi asked with a sad look on his face. " DAMN DEGENERATE! Let be go beat him with my neo aikido skills" "no need it's ok I saw it coming it just hurts more than I thought it would." You left the cafe took your order to go and went to your dorms.
Next day at school
It was all everyone was talking about 'You guys are finally together' 'I knew you could get her sidekick' 'Ha ha pooichi got himself a girlfriend'
You wanted to scream at the top of your lungs to tell everyone to shut up. Tenko and Kokichi helped you through out most of the week. But you knew it was not going to help forever.
Whenever Shuichi tried to get close to you Tenko would attack him. If you didn't have Tenko around Kokichi would drag you away claiming you had to do something with him.
Years later
You were scrolling through your social media and you saw your old friend
Shuichi
'Marrying the love of my life dont know what I would do without her'
