Miles pov
I took Jonnies' hand as we walked through the woods. Searching for the group again. Then we heard it, the sounds of laughing and wood hitting wood. There stood two teens dueling each other with two sticks. A group of kids and teens laughing at how they'd fall and hit each other.
"Jonnie?" A little boy yelled from afar. Her face lit up as she ran towards him. They embraced in a strong hug before the rest of the group joined. Each individual picking her up and hugging her, ruffling her hair or tickling her. All seemed to know and miss her dearly. Once she was set down, she motioned for me to come over to her.
"This is Miles guys. He helped me back." She smiled as the kids hugged me. All the kids embraced me, from the littlest of ages to the oldest of teens. All crying, thanking me for something I'm not sure I did.
"Miles! Is that you??" I heard a voice yell from afar. In the distance of trees, Hazel came running, the others behind her. Once she got close enough to see the group of kids surrounding me, she stopped moving. Eyes glistering with tears as she makes eye contact with her sister, Jonnie.
"Jonnie?" She whispers, taking a step closer.
"Hazel." She smiled. Both take off running towards each other, Jonnie jumped into Hazel's arms. Crying and hugging, they laugh before letting go.
"How? Why? Oh God, Jennie, I thought I lost you forever and I was so worried." Hazel cried kneeling in front of Jennie.
Jonnie turned towards me and instantly Hazel climbed off her knees and scrambled over to me. Pulling me into a hug, she sobbed. Hands gripping my shirt, squeezing my body close to hers.
"I think God decided to answer your prayers." She laughed as she let me go, wiping her tears.
"What's the plan?" Jonnie and the group gathered next to us. Hazel, gaining composer, took a step away and scanned my face for an answer.
Noticing I had no plan; with wide eyes, she took a step towards the group.
"We should split into groups. Attack from every angel." The group cheered. The energy was strong, the group seemed ready to face anything.
"So Miles, lets plan and group." Jennie turned to me, the group following.
"Ok. We'll do three groups, each led by two of us. That way everyone can be accounted for. I'm not sure who goes where or what but I know this might work better than just rushing in and going at it." Hazel smiled as the kids quietly pumped their fists in the air as they listen closely to the plan.
"Well, Me and Ash can go to Satan straight forward; his throne room. You and John takes Jonnie and some warriors, go to God gates and have Jonnie ask God for protection. Tell her about the dinner with me. Erin and Andy can go to Hell's gates with the rest of the warriors, fight with the demons. We will win this fight." I explained, pointing towards groups of kids and the weapons.
"Let's get going then!" A little girl with pink piggy tails piped up, making everyone else cheer.
"Sure, but wouldn't you want some protection? Some fighting skills? Weapons?" I smiled and patted her head. Walking past the group of kids, Hazel and Jonnie; I grabbed a sword and smiled at the kids.
"Let's suit up and practice, I don't want my best warriors down. The younger ones will stay and protect Mrs. Davis, last time I checked she was past out in the cave." I pointed over to the cave where we all first met and planned our first mission.
"Why do we have to stay and babysit? How is that fair?" A kid asked, pulling on my ripped shirt. When it ripped I wouldn't know. Between running and fighting demons something must have ripped it.
"Babysit? Is that what you'll think you're doing?" I smirked as I handed Hazel a sword.
"Absolutely not. You are defending Mrs. Davis and the most important thing, my soul. Satan wants me for some reason we're not sure. So can you protect the most important things during our war?" I asked striking at Hazels sword. She blocked it and swung at me.
"Yes!" They cheered and grabbed their own weapons, striking at each other. I sat back by Hazel; watching them strike and block. They help each other, some with clothes and armor, others with striking positions and blocking. They're all smiling and seem excited, which is best for younger kids. I don't know if this is the last time I'll see them. Alive at least, will it be me dead or they? What am I going to do to protect all these kids just to get back some kids. How many kids are actually going to come back or be saved? Is it even worth it to bring in anyone other than myself?
Maybe I should go myself, leave the kids behind and just go for it? But how would I do that? Just teleport to his throne, and fight him? That sounds easier said than done. I mean what would I even say? "Hey, don't kill me just hand me the kids?" Do I look tough enough for that? I mean I'm 5'7 and 150lbs; that's nothing compared to satan himself. He'll crush me like a bug, laugh hysterically, then walk away.
Maybe that's what I should do. Take one for the team, it's definitely needed and I can't keep watching as kids disappear or die anymore. I have died enough this year, no more.
