"Okay thanks John, just fax me those papers when ever you get the chance. Yep. You too. Have a Merry Christmas."
I hung up my phone as I continued walking home, towards my apartment.
I had just finished talking to my assistant to make sure he faxed me a few case files on a new client that I had so he would remember to do it ay some point over our Christmas Holiday.
The snow crunched under my feet as I came up to an intersection and waited for the crosswalk sign change.
I glanced across the road and saw a man walking down the street with his wife and three kids, all bundled up in their winter hats and mittens.
I looked down at my phone when all of a sudden something hit me. Before I knew it my feet were carrying me and I was running across the street through traffic.
I ran after the family and caught up with them.
I tapped on the man's shoulder. "Jimin?"
He turned around "umm, no sorry. You must have me confused with someone else."
It wasn't him.
"Yes, you must be right. Sorry."

When I finally reached my building I walked upstairs to my apartment and opened the door.
"Mommy!!!!"
I was greeted with hugs from four little arms.
"Hi guys."
"Mommy, daddy is putting up the tree!! Come see!" They both yelled.
"Okay one second. Let mommy take of her coat and gloves. I'll be there in a minute."
In response, my two little girls ran back into the living room.
"Peter, did you get the mail?" I yelled into the others room.
"Yes sweet heart. Its on the counter."
"Thanks!"
After taking off my gloves and coat I walked into the kitchen and looked through the mail.
I was about to throw it back on the counter when I noticed a white, unlabeled envelope in the pile.
I pulled it out and examined it before opening it.
It was a Christmas card of a family I didn't recognize.
A husband and wife with three kids. Two girls and a boy.
"Peter Honey...did someone give you a Christmas card at work today?"
"No. Why?'"
"No reason..."
"Okay."
I picked up the card and examined it more closely but I didnt recognize anyone. So I walked over to the trash can to throw it away, but as I turned it over I saw writing on the back.
The card read in messy handwriting that I would recognize anywhere, even after 15 years,
I kept it.
