in the bus, on the way home, i decided to ask what was the next on her list.

"so, what's next?"

she seems distant, looking out the window. her thoughts probably taking her elsewhere.

"take me away from the city" she looked at me "let's go some where we can escape."

escape the pain of reality?

i stopped driving and we got down the car.

we were just taking a trip around the nearest province outside the city.

a silent escape from the pain as i see it.

we decided to stop to watch the sunset as we had a nice view.

i take a look at yahui as the wind blows her hair like in those movies.

i smiled at the sight only to slowly frown.

do i have to lose her?

she slowly faced me and smiled.

god knows how much i'll miss that smile.

"thanks for staying by my side when no one could, xiaojun."

"i'd gladly stay with you."

we leaned against the road's railings gazing at the sunset.

i glanced at her only to see her looking at me as well.

"what?" i asked with a smile.

"i can't help but look at the best gift the creator gave me."

"cheesy now, are we?" i laughed.

she laughed then took a step closer to me and leaned her head on my shoulder.

i slowly close my eyes to treasure the moment.
