The hot summer sun strikes a large portion of her face. She never liked the sun. she doesn’t care if it produced a lot of Vitamin D but what she cares is the sun is giving her migraine. Back to Twilight book she previously read, she cannot why Bella, the female protagonist of the book, loves the sun. Shin and Bella seemed to be physically the same. Their skins were pale but they were unawarely beautiful, more like a headturner in their own ways.

She locked up the gate, hoping for the taxi to arrive in front of her house. She opened her bag when she heard her cellphone ringing noisily. It was Gab. Before she could answer, Gab had already put the phone down. Just another missed call.
“There’s a saying that if you have missed a person, that means you badly missed her,” someone voiced out, and she automatically smiled. “Hey, I missed you.”

It was Gab who was holding a bouquet of roses and smiling brightly at her, flashing his perfect white teeth. He went near her and handed her the roses to her. “Uhh… sorry about the daisies yesterday. I didn’t know you were allergic.”

She willingly received the flowers. She was enlightened and inspired. He just gave her favorite red roses. “Nah--- it was nothing. Honestly, I appreciate it even though those were daisies. I love the roses, thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” he said. “What time is your lunch break?”

“12 noon to 1:30pm… too long for a lunch break, huh?”

His face grew serious. “Who was the guy yesterday?”

“Aah, Ian? I mean Sir Ian Bautista, he’s the heir of the company. I’m sorry about yesterday. We just celebrated my promotion so we---,” she explained.

“Okay,” he interrupted. “I perfectly understand. And congratulations! Let’s celebrate later! Alright?”

She nodded and beamed at him. He fought a smile too and caressed her long dark hair. She was much prettier without her ponytail on. He gave himself a heavy sigh. “I wish I could do this everyday, taking you out on lunch break and dinner, caressing your hair gently and embracing you,” Gab said. “I was planning to quit soccer. I promised myself that this would be my last year.”

“Why?” Shin questioned him worriedly. “Are you sick?”

“No, no, I’m not sick. I’m just tired of playing, it doesn’t seem to interest me anymore, you know. I just have to focus on my orphanage I built last 3 years ago. It wasn’t that big but I’ll expand it if we win this year and if I won MVP again,” he admitted and pulled out a soft laugh. “And I’m planning to go into a military school.”

“You have so many plans, hope it will come true.”

“And one thing,” he added as he looked above the blue sky. “I want to make these things happen together with you. All I hope is that we can be together… forever, if that’s even possible. I know it sounds corny but I only see myself with you in the future and I think I’ serious.” Then he stared into her eyes. “I’m serious.”

Shin was hypnotized with his stares and by the look of his eyes, it seemed that he is too much serious about everything. Her heart beats faster and her body weakened. She was blushing again and she can’t even comprehend the actual situation today. The tingling sensation is in her tummy. The longer he is staring at her, the stronger the desire she felt for him.

Then, Gab grabbed her hand and brushed the back of her palm.

“Shin, I’ve been meaning to ask you this for ages,” he continued. “Do you feel the same way too?”

Shin almost dropped her jaw after hearing his question. It seemed to be realistic. She never thought that she can finally hear these words from him personally. Her heart pumps more. She was feeling lost by her feelings and she can’t find any exact words to say.

“G-Gab?” she called out. “I honestly don’t know what to say… really!”

Confession time is too early, she thought to herself.

“How rubbish I am to wait for you if I’m not feeling the same way, right?” she confessed. “It sounds fake to fall in love with a person I haven’t met yet but I don’t know why I felt in love with you. Yeah --- in conclusion, I felt the same way too.”

She couldn’t believe herself she just said it. Then, they exchange meaningful glances and smiled. Silence reigned over the place. The sun was still shining but the wind is starting to blow coolly, as if they were joining with them being together. Her hand was still on Gab. He pulled her more towards him and suddenly embraced her. She could feel they finally become as one. The leaves magically pranced around them.

“Uhm, I’m late for work, you know,” she reminded him.

“Oh yeah, I’m sorry. Let’s call it a double celebration,” he said. “Remember every 21st of the month, you understand?” She nodded.

Dear Diary,
Almost a week had passed since we were together. I won’t forget May 21st. I will never forget to mark my calendar every 21st of the month. Gab was getting sweeter each day and I love it. Every lunch break he was inviting me to go lunch… and there’s so many girls everywhere staring at him. Ooh--- then one time, we went out for dinner, there were intruders. Yes, he was that famous. None of us have faults if he turned out to be a famous MVP soccer player. Paparazzi(s) are crazy and scary. I am no celebrity myself but I was experiencing all these things because of him. LOL. It was too cool yet unusual for me to run in heels just to escape from them.
Ooh… a news from Ian Bautista was zero. It was also on the 21st when he started avoiding me. I was sitting at my usual seat at the office and he said to me, ‘Just call me if you’re ready to check your new office.’ He was terribly cold to me right now and I don’t understand his mood. Before the 21st, he was amazingly approaching and now… whatever. He’s now on a business trip in Indonesia. I wonder if he’ll be seeing someone else after the business trip. His snobbish approach to me was daunting me like crazy! Urgh! I felt invisible again.
I guess he was not that nice after all. Maybe, he was nice because he wants me to accept the spot. Stupidity.
Anyways, Gab is the one! Oh yes, I’m sure of this. This must be true love and I’m loving this feeling. Oh how I wish I would be inspired everyday because of him. I so love him… and I hope this is forever.
XOXO,
Shin Go
PS: I miss how Ian called my complete name. Ooh, don’t tell me I was confused again. No, I’m not! Darn it!

It was a breezy Sunday morning when Shin found out from Gab’s friend that Gab had gone back to Manila without telling her. She was desperately wandering around the park that time, hoping that Gab had text or called her at the first place before leaving. She was utterly disappointed. She found a bench and sat there. All she could feel is that she is worried for Gab’s safety going to Manila. Her hands shiver uneasily.

“What would a pretty girl be doing in the park alone?” a familiar voice said. The voice seemed to be a beautiful music to her ears. It was manly and suave that even if she’ll close her eyes, she would totally figure out who the man was. She looked up. It was a man in tux --- a man of glamour and sophistication rather. Her beamed at her lusciously.

“Ian? How was Indonesia?” she asked happily.

“It’s usually fine. I also went to Cebu to have a 3-day vacation. And you’re right, it’s really cool to live in a fishing boat,” he replied. “Well, what are you doing here?”

“Just hanging around,” she said and gave herself a fake smile.

“Alone? How about your boyfriend? Is he coming?”

“No… he’s in Manila… maybe something urgent happened or anything I didn’t know.”

“Meaning he never called you for his urgencies,” he figured out as she nodded. She was always mesmerized everything Ian let goes a soft laugh. “You shouldn’t be here, wandering like a desperate housewife hunting for a husband. Kidding aside, come with me and we’ve got important errands to do.”

“Where to?”

“Don’t ask and get in the car,” he commanded. “He is waiting for us.”

“Who’s he?”

“I don’t usually entertain questions today. So let’s go.”
