Pretty unusual, she thought. AREVALO FUNDAMENTAL BAPTIST CHURCH. He just took her to a Baptist church. Usually, the girl is always asking the guy to go to church but this time, it happened the opposite way she never expected.

“Ian, I’m not a B---”

“Look, in our church, we never had any religious discrimination so you can freely step up to this church as long as you want. Don’t you want to experience a new religion?” he saked. “Uhm… let’s wait still, the mass is not yet starting. I am a certified Baptist, Shin. Many people thought we are overly conservative which is slightly true. And it’s a fact that I’ve never been to any bars and movie house. It’s too worldly for me, you know. Plus, I never drink alcohol or smoke.”

“Why?” she mindly asked.

“I’m afraid,” he admitted.

“Afraid to try?” she asked again in a tone of challenge.

“No, I wasn’t afraid to try. I was afraid that I may disappoint God. Also, those things are completely a waste of time, money plus it’s also health-risked,” he said truthfully. “I’m basically not a religious person. I consider myself as a godly person. I would never die of religion but rather, in the name of God.”

Amazingly unusual, she thought again.

“I’m always here the whole day during Sundays and every afternoon during Wednesdays,” he continued sharing. “I felt nice and refreshing to serve God that’s why I’ve been blessed with a high-ranked company. My dad quit as the president of the company because he is happier with his pastorship. And I think I’m planning the same way. I’ll give the company to the only heiress who is my sister, when I become pastor and be happily married someday.”

“You’re different, Ian. I never thought you were that devoted,” she only said.

“Ahh, unobvious, isn’t it? Next year, I’ll be graduating in Religious Education. I was so secretive about myself, people never noticed about the real me. I am going to be a pastor next year and that makes me pretty excited about everything,” he shared more. “But right now, I’m the speaker.”

Ian was comfortably open to her which makes her glad. She just found out something important and interesting about him. She heaved a sigh and smiled afterwards.

“That’s why you invited me over,” she asked jokingly.

“Sort of… nah --- I just saw you at the park, remember? I thought you could come. Uhm… I also want you to know who God is…personally and spiritually,” he replied seriously. “Rather in all aspect of your life.”

The church is neat and organized. There’s nothing inside it except for some long church chairs and a table at the altar. The lighting was bright and pleasurable, there’s also a piano at the corner side of the altar. Neat.

Ian was walking confidently, it feels as though he was still in the office. The only difference is that he had a huge and heartfelt smile on his face now, which only makes him the most inhumanly and impossibly handsome guy on the planet. He shakes hand with most of the people in the church. Everywhere he goes, he was being popular.

Shin bashfully smiled at Ian’s churchmates and warmly shook hands with them. There was an amicable air in Ian’s church and it hugely amazed her.

“All of us know each other,” Ian started.

Shin looked at some of the girls. They looked positively stunning without making such efforts to beautify themselves. They were elite-looking and girly. For sure, Ian had liked them for once. The old women’s crowd was still graceful-looking. There were only a few boys in the church but all of them were quite good-looking. But surely, Ian outstands them all. Ian is a god.
