E I G H T E E N | Murphy's Curse
I slowly walked around looking at the rumble around me. Bellamy, Bellamy's 'helpers', Clarke, Raven, Finn and I was currently at the crash site of the Exodus ship. We were searching if anything or anyone survived the crash. Currently, all I saw in front of me was rumble and skeletons laying around. I felt my heart shatter every time I found a new skeleton. Hoping, no praying that it wasn't my father's. Every time I wiped away my tears, new one's just made their way back to my eyes. The thought of never seeing my father again just broke me. I couldn't bring myself to even think about it or even accept it.
"Clarke and Rae shouldn't be out here," I hear Finn say, not far from me.
"Clarke's mom and Rae's father was on the ship. They're looking for answers. You want to help them, find me the black box, hard drives, anything that will explain why this ship crashed," Raven snapped back at Finn.
"Why they were coming doesn't matter anymore. It's our job to be ready when they do. We're on our own now," Bellamy told the group as he made his way over to me.
"Rae?" He said as he looked at me.
I slowly lifted my head looking him in his eyes, tears rolling down as I do.
"I'm fine," I whispered to him, wiping away my tears once again. I was never one to show my emotions in front of others. I always thought it showed everyone that you are weak, but these tears I couldn't hold back. This was my father we're talking about.
"Rae, you don't have to pretend with me," He said, as he pulled me into an embrace.
"Oh!" I hear Clarke say out of shock.
I looked up only to find her near the Hydrazine that was licking out of the Exodus ship. I quickly pushed myself away from Bellamy as I rushed over to Clarke.
"Clarke, stop!" I yelled at her as I pushed her away from the Hydrazine.
"Rocket fuel?" Clarke questioned.
"Hydrazine," I told her before Raven could cut in.
"Highly unstable in its non-solid form. If this stuff meets fire, we're all pink mist," Raven told Clarke.
Raven quickly took a piece of metal from the crash, before dipping it into the Hydrazine, "Fire in the hole," she shouted as she threw the rock into the fire. An explosion was formed just as the Hydrazine made contact with the fire. I have worked with Hydrazine my whole life and I knew what damage it could do.
"Okay, then," Bellamy started, "We move in formation, no straggling, and weapons hot. We got to get back before dark."
As we all stepped foot back into the camp everyone started rambling on about something. I looked at everyone, before shouting to everyone to shut the hell up. I looked around, before grabbing the first delinquent that was the closest to me.
