I sat on the couch watching the news. She was mentioned, but they didn't really talk much about her.
"Mikey.." My mother said quietly. She shouldn't talk to me quietly. "What?" I said straight out flat. "Go out, take you mind off things." She answered. I get up and walk out of the hotel room without saying a word.
These past two weeks have been the hardest time of my life. My heart hurts, I don't really give a damn about anything anymore. All my mind is set on is to find Lily.
I didn't bother taking my truck, I was walking. I don't know how far I've walked already and I really didn't pay attention to where I was going.
My cell phone made a beeping sound indicating that someone has texted me. I take my phone and read the text. 'Could you stop ignoring me? I know you are having a rough time, but that doesn't mean you can drop out and block everyone out of your life. And another thing, you only have known this girl about a month.' The text from Kaitlyn was rude for me, I didn't bother texting back. I've gotten texts and calls from her for awhile now. Same with my friends from school. I've tried calling and texting on Lily's phone, to see if one day she'll text back.
I noticed I was near the beach. I walked a long way from the hotel. I looked around and see people enjoying their time. Lucky for them. I would've been here with Lily right now, well right now we'd be at school but you know after school.

My mind cleared, there's gotta be a way. I pulled out my phone and called my father.
"Hey dad, I wan--" I said as soon as my father answered but he cut me off.
"Hey Michael! I was just about to call you. I have something to tell you. Where are you? I will come pick you up right away." He said over the phone. It made me jump, did he find her? Is she alive? Is she dead? I thought. My heart dropped when I asked myself the last question.
"Jericho Beach." I answered him. "I'll be there soon." He responded and hung up. I started walking to the nearest road. I didn't know which way he'll come from but I know for sure that he'll call if he doesn't see me.

I see my father coming towards me, I walk over to his car when he stopped. I get in his car and braced myself to hear what he wanted to tell me.
"Michael, I wanted to tell you something and also what to ask you something. We didn't want to ask the parent because it might get their hopes up. But when the detectives we're searching for clues, they found this but they didn't know if it belonged to Lily." My father explained then gave me a plastic bag.i took the bag and look at what's in the bag closely. It was a necklace. "I don't want to get your hopes up but that would be anyone's." He added. "Why did you come show this to me, shouldn't the detectives like look through it for DNA, or something?" I ask my father. "The reason why he didn't give it to the detectives is because he wanted to make sure it's Lily's necklace and if it is they'll look through it more. I know it's been three weeks but we'll find her." A man said, that I didn't know that was sitting in the back. He made me jump. "Whoa, I didn't know you were there, but I think this is hers." I said quietly looking at the necklace. To be honest this is the most crappiest detectives there is.
"Reid, we found something at the bridge!" "Reid! You have get here fast!" A static voice came from the man's radio or walkie-talkie. I don't know. "Almost there." Reid said over the radio.

We arrived at a bridge. There was an ambulance and a stretcher. Police. There were looking at something on the ground. I didn't what to expect.
Reid and my father ran to the site. I see my father nodding and walk my way. I can feel my heart drop. It can't be her. No, it can't be her. I say in my mind over and over. I take a deep breath and get out of the car. I walk over to my father.
"Mike, they found a body but I'm not doing this because I don't like you, but you're Lily's friend. I want you to identify the body for me, for them, for her family." He said. I swallowed my own spit hard and nodded. I'll be honest, I'm not ready to see this. "Okay." I managed to get out. He escorted me near the bridge. I take a deep breath and tears are staring to roll down from my eyes. I was close to the body and shut my eyes. I give myself a minute and get my stuff together and open them.

It was a girl, she had the same hair color as Lily and the same lips. But It was not Lily. I looked at her arms. No, it wasn't Lily. This poor girl's arm had clean arms. It wasn't scarred from cutting. I looked at my dad and shook my head no. "She's not Lily." I said. I walked back to the car. I couldn't help but cry once I got in it.
I just saw a body. A dead one. I started to think about how these people do it. Especially my father. They don't feel when they see a dead body. I think. My mind goes back to Lily. What if one of these days they'll find her dead?
