I was in my own little studio that I called home. It wasn't big though, but all I needed was a bed sofa to sleep and hang around, a kitchen for food, and a bathroom for the hygiene and my own business. I didn't have any other furniture because it was only provisionally until I worked enough and gathered my money together. The rent for this studio was peanuts since Black Poison appeared and somehow this was her favorite district to fight the Feral Soldier the loans went down.

The breaking news once announced that she got stronger and their only hero seemed to lose the fight soon. He got very weak and he behaved oddly to the people, as would the situation break him. Afterall I do understand him, if I were a hero I'd be frustrated if someone came to a cross-like Black Poison and I would lose every fight.

As time passed by I made my way to work. To earn some good money I worked as a cashier in a small supermarket. It wasn't the best job to get but it was okay until I find something better that I like.

My shift was almost over until I heard an excited voice at the end of the queue. I looked over to a small woman who waved to me. Probably she waved to a friend who is standing behind me. But there wasn't another person. When it was her turn she greeted me.

"Nancy. Since when are you working here? I thought being a cashier isn't interesting enough for you.", she questioned very excitedly and I narrowed my eyebrows, not knowing who she was.

A co-worker tapped on my shoulder, telling me that my shift was over and he will take over. I got up and wanted to walk away but I was too curious. I turned around and asked her if I know her. But before she could give me an answer a familiar ginger-haired guy interrupted her.

"Hey, babe. You ready?", Noah asked the blonde woman beside him as my eyes grew wide. "Oh, hi Nancy."

"How come you know my best friend?", she asked Noah and somehow jealousy washed over her face.

"Excuse me what?", I interrupted them as they argued.

I took them by their wrists and dragged them out to the alley. I didn't want them to disturb our customers.

"I didn't even know you had a best friend.", Noah disputed and looked into my eyes that I immediately avoided. "And as for you young lady. What happened between you and Danny?", he then asked me.

"First of all, between me and Danny was nothing and it's none of your business. Secondly, how come you're my best friend but didn't report me missing?", I said with an angry tone.

"Okay, I get it why you're angry Dark. But I was on a trip for four months. I came home two weeks ago and I met this handsome guy at the airport. Come on, guys! Why are you angry at me?", she whined. "I was in love and forgot my friends, it's not like it never happened to you. And after all, I didn't even know that she was your case. You never told me the name of your victim nor what your investigation was about."

"Don't blame it on me because of my professional secrecy. Can we just go now?", Noah defended himself and picked up the grocery bags.

"Yes, we can. But Nancy, you're coming with us. We have much to catch up with.", she said and grabbed my wrist.

"Where are we going? Oh, and it's kinda awkward, but what's your name again?", I questioned and followed tight behind.

"Oh girl, you got really fucked up that you forgot my name.", she sighed. "I'm Lucy Chesterfield. You like to call me Lucifer because I like to do things that we shouldn't be doing. And you think I have to be loyal to my last name because I smoke chesterfield.", she added and we got in Noah's car.

"Okay, but you didn't answer my first question.", I said unsure because I had a bad feeling that we're going to Danny's place somehow.

"You know exactly where we're going and I know if I confirm what you think, you would jump out of the car.", she said harshly as she would know how I tick.
