October, 1984

"Hey, look! My favorite kids!" Rachel yelled. The boys were playing Dragons Lair for probably the hundredth time.

"No. No no no. I hate this overpriced bullshit. Son of a bitch," Dustin said as he kicked the machine.

"Hey, language," she said.

The kids went over to Dig Dug, and that was when Rachel remembered that someone beat their score. When the boys realized this, they started grilling Rachel and Keith about who MadMax was. Keith tried to use that as his chance to score a date with Nancy, but everyone said no.

"You're not her type." Rachel said. The young boys laughed at her remark towards Keith as she walked away to make sure other games were still working. Max Mayfield was in a different part of the arcade, and she liked Rachel.

"Hi, MadMax." Rachel said to the young girl.

"Oh, hi, Rachel. How's it going?" She asked.

"Keith wants to prostitute my friend because some kids want information on who you are. They were pissed when they saw that you beat their score on Dig Dug."

"Keith is kinda gross. No wonder he's desparate for a date."

"Shhhh, don't let him hear that."

The girls laughed but they stopped when they heard the rev of an engine outside.

"That's my asshole brother. See ya," Max said.

Rachel was in charge of closing the arcade for the night, which was the best part. The main reason that it was so great was because she knew that Keith wasn't trying to take more than half of the money in the tip jar. He was kind of terrible in that way. The arcade was the busiest on the weekends, but there was some fun in counting out and dividing the amount of money in the tip jar. Her and Keith practically ran the place, and it wasn't easy because they both had school.
