Rachel got home from work and the cabin was dead silent. She didn't pass Hopper's truck on the way there, but she figured that he was at work or taking a different route. She knocked on the door to El's room several times, and even put her ear up to see if she could hear anything. Nothing. Panic was starting to set in, because even if El left, she would be alone. Hopper didn't want to risk taking her anywhere, and neither did Rachel. She opened the door to El's room and her heart sank. There were clothes laying around but it looked like Eleven had decided to pack a bag and go somewhere. She glanced at the clock next to Eleven's bed and realized that Hopper was going to be home from work in about two hours.

"El?" She asked. No response. Not even a little creak in the floor boards. Rachel went into full on panic mode when she realized that Eleven ran away. Her hands were trembling and her mouth felt dry as she went over to the phone and dialed the number to the Wheeler house. It was the only place that El could've gone, considering that she had her heart set on seeing Mike again. Mrs. Wheeler picked up the phone and Rachel tried to slow her breathing as to not make the woman concerned.

"Hi, Mrs. Wheeler. Um, is Mike there? I need to talk to him."

"He went to Will's house to check up on him. I can pass on a message if you want, though."

"No, thanks. I was actually about to head over to the Byers house to study with Jonathan. Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"Bye."

She grabbed her keys and a jacket before running to her car. When she was safely in the vehicle, she started the engine and started crying. If El didn't turn up and get home within the next two hours, Rachel would for sure be dead. She grabbed one of the cassette tapes that was sitting on her dashboard and put it in the stereo, hoping that the music that was about to play would make her feel better. The first song that played was Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas, and of course she put it on full volume. Jonathan was standing outside of the Byers house when she pulled in the driveway.
