Jonathan walked up to Rachel as she was getting a small bag of chips out of her locker. She smiled as she saw that he was holding a bag of Brach's Autumn Mix.
"It was the last one on the shelf at Melvald's, and I know you love it," he said.
"Stop. You're the best."
They walked out to Jonathan's car and started talking about the party.
"Okay, so last night, I had to take Nancy home. Steve looked upset about something. I don't know what it was, though."
"Well, that's kind of funny because I do. Nancy was drunk out of her mind and she broke up with him. Drunk words are sober thoughts, and I guess I did kind of see it coming. They looked good together, though."
"Is that his shirt?"
"Yeah. I was pretty drunk, too. I crashed at Steve's place but a red tube top is definitely not school appropriate."
To everyone's surprise, Rachel got to gym on time. She had a tendency to skip that class and go to the library, but something was telling her to go to gym. She was sitting in the bleachers, attempting to read her book, but she just couldn't do it. That was weird to her because she could usually read in any type of environment. She put the book down and was about to open her bag of Autumn Mix when she made direct eye contact with Billy. So she sighed and put the bag of sugar back in her bag before starting to get up. Right as she started to make her way down the bleachers, Nancy opened the outside door to the gym and asked to talk to Steve. Rachel decided to sit back down and wait until after class to talk to him.
Rachel waited outside of the boys locker room for a few minutes after class because Steve had to take a shower. He walked out and she followed him.
