Robin was very confused at what El did to the car, and they all stood in a crcle talking to each other. Rachel looked over and saw that El wasn't doing okay. Something was happening to her, but they didn't know what it was. She fell on the ground and said that it was her leg. They took off the gauze and saw that her wound looked like it was getting infected. If it wasn't infected, it certainly looked bad. Whatever it was, it was moving. Jonathan told everyone to keep her talking as he went to get something to get it out of her leg.
He cut her leg open to see if it would help, but it only put her in more pain. She screamed at him to stop, but said that she could do it. She got the thing out of her leg, but not without shattering the glass behind them, and not without it looking like a scene from the movie Alien. A piece of the glass cut Rachel's arm, but she was so pumped with adrenaline that she didn't even feel it. After she had taken the creature out of her leg, everyone looked up to see Hopper, Joyce, and Murray.
They had to explain the Mind Flayer again, which was dificult because it was worse than before. Murray was explaining his plan to Joyce and Hopper. They were going to get in and shut off the gate, but there was a slight miscalculation.
"Okay, this is what Alexei called 'the hub'. Now, the hub takes us to the vault room," he said.
"Okay, where's the gate?"
"Right here. I don't know the scale on this but I think it's fairly close to the vault room. Maybe fifty feet or so."
"More like five hundred. What, you're just gonna waltz in there like it's commie Disneyland or something?" Erica asked.
"I'm sorry, who are you?"
Rachel had a feeling that this was about to get slightly entertaining.
