Y/n L/n's POV
A symphony of rose-pink light dawned over the world when the sun began to peek over the horizon. The first morning light came like a harmless touch, shining bright in my teary eyes.
A passing breeze whispered a tune in my ears, humming with the birds flying overhead. Together, they sang a song of encouragement, cheering for me through chirps and soft howls of the wind.
Even in the earliest moments of the day, I suffer. Under the pink and orange hues of the sky and softly woven clouds, I endure the hardships of life. And while nature awoke with a sigh, I awoke with a heavy cry.
"Why are you crying? You're only at your 15th push-up"
"I'm not crying, it's sweat!" I yelled as my arms trembled, struggling to support my weight and the heavy load on my back.
"Is 20 push-ups really that hard?"
"Well, it would've been easier if you weren't sitting on me!"
Ms. Taeyeon chuckled, crossing a leg over the other while looking down at me. "You'll improve faster this way"
"I'll die faster, too!" Panting, I lowered my body close to the ground before lifting myself up. 16 down, 4 more to go...
"It will only get harder from here on out, y'know?" She smacked my bum, demanding that I try harder. "If you continue on like this, it will take years until you can inherit my power"
"Oh, come on! It's only my 3rd day!"
"Every day counts" She fired back, striking down all the excuses I made. "Great power calls for a great vessel. If you, the vessel, are not strong enough to withstand the power that you will inherit," She pointed at me. "your body will explode"
A shiver went down my spine, fear coursing through my veins after being reminded of such a horrifying thing. "Well, that's one way to motivate someone..."
Her hearty laugh echoed far while placing a hand on my head, ruffling my hair. "Go on, finish those push-ups!"
"Ye- Yes, ma'am!"
