Chapter 7

Emily's POV

I put my phone down on the floor next to me a after reading the last message Laura.

There was nothing to do in this basement and I had only just found an area with internet access a little while before I posted the status on Facebook.

I stayed sitting on the floor for a while and was about to check my phone when my stomach made a weird noise to tell me it wanted food.

I hadn't eaten since breakfast, I hadn't eaten any of the lunch before I dropped the plate.

I decided to get up and explore the basement more to distract myself from my hunger.

I walked over to some boxes that were in the opposite corner of the room.

I looked at the the closest box, I noticed that the words [science equipment] could be seen under the dust that coated the top of the box.

I brushed the dust off and opened the box.

I looked inside to see really expensive looking equipment.

I pulled some things out but I didn't know what anything was so I put it back not wanting to break anything.

I sat back down on the floor hoping that someone would save me soon.

Laura's POV

After replying to Emily's last comment I got up.

I started to look around the basement for my parents after looking around for a minute I finally found them in the workshop.

"Hey what are you guys doing in here?"

"We've decided that we should probably cover the vent in the bathroom to make sure nothing can get in" said dad

"How would stuff get in from there?"

"Well the is a long metal pipe that goes inside the walls and connect to a vent on the bottom floor, so all the steam goes outside"said dad

" oh OK, but what will happen when we have showers now?"

"I guess we will have to try to have shorter showers so we don't make much steam" said mum

"And by we you mean you , right mum?"

"I don't take that long in the shower" said mum

"Yes you do, you take longer than me and you have short hair"

"Guys, it doesn't matter who takes longer showers because we ALL need to have shorter showers now"-dad

" fine"me and mum said at the same time

"So is there a reason you were looking for us?"-dad

" Actually there was, I was on Facebook and I saw a post from one of classmates "I said before I told them what the post had said

"So I think we should go help her, she told me her address"

"Well how far away is it? Said mum

" it's quite close its just by the doctors "

"Well OK then, but you are not coming with us" said dad

"Fine"

"We will get ready then go soon" said dad

"OK, try to stay safe"

"We will" said mum
