I still don't own Naruto

Kakashi was still in a confused state seeing his former anbu teammate Itachi. Sasuke and Naruto were still speechless at seeing Itachi again.

Kakashi you became hokage, I never pegged you for the paperwork type.-Itachi said with a small smile

Lord Sixth what should we do with Itachi, he is still a criminal of the village even though he is alive- The anbu said as he looked at Kakashi

Nothing I want to talk to him, and see how this is possible.-Kakashi said looking at the anbu

But lord hokage.-the anbu was cut off by Kakashi

No it will be fine, I know Itachi, anyway let's go to the hokage tower Itachi. Sasuke, you and Naruto come too.-Kakashi said interested to know how this was possible

The anbu trailed and watched closely as Itachi, Naruto,Sasuke, and Kakashi went to the hokage office.

At the hokage office, Naruto sat in the windowsill, Sasuke leaned against a wall, Kakashi sat at his desk, and Itachi sat opposite of Kakashi.

Itachi, I know about what happened with the clan, so no need to go through those details. So let's start with the obvious how are you alive?-Kakashi asked in a serious tone

After I released the Jutsu that Kabuto had me and the others under, I used a very strong genjutsu on Sasuke. I then disappeared and went to a small town, as I felt I could still help to achieve peace for this world being that I was still an edo tensei I was basically indestructible.-Itachi said in a sad tone

So you were still always trying to help us out Itachi?-Naruto said suddenly with a smile, not surprised but in awe

Yes Naruto, me and your master Jiraiya shared the same dream of peace.
Anyway as I was helping this village, it was attacked by rogue shinobi, so I was helping to stop them, I had moved in with a small family, but they were all killed during the attack.-Itachi said as he closed his eyes.

Itachi I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up a bad memory, but this is a very strange situation for everyone.-Kakashi said feeling bad about the conversation

Sasuke had his eyes closed and was listening intently to Itachi's story.

It's okay Kakashi, after the attack I went back to what was my home at the time, and the only person that was left was the elder of the family, a very old woman who lived for her family.-Itachi said before looking out at the night sky

I tried to talk to her as I had before, but she was just so sad at the lost of her family she asked if I could help her join them, I couldn't do that, but then she said she knew a better way. She said she was a ninja decades ago, but gave up the life to start a family, she was a medical ninja that was one of the highest class ninja of her time.-Itachi said as he looked at Sasuke.

She made me promise to return home to my family, and then she used a jutsu that switched out life forces, and since I was technically dead she started to die after casting the jutsu and I became fully alive again.

The last thing she said to me before she died was" go to your brother Itachi, he misses you."and then she died, but I had never told her my name or about my past.

What about your illness?-Sasuke said with his eyes still closed

Once I was returned to life, I didn't have it anymore, I'm not sure exactly why, but I am thankful.-Itachi said quietly

Suddenly Sasuke opened his eyes looked at itachi and said "how do you have your eyes, because I took them after I went blind from using the mangekyo sharingan too much?"

Itachi closed his eyes, and opened them again, his mangekyo sharingan was there, although it was different as he had the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Sasuke, I actually encountered your old eyes while making my way to the village.Itachi said as his eyes turned back to normal

How, I thought the lab with the sharingan was destroyed and lost forever!?-Sasuke said surprised

After I learned about it I went to investigate, even without eyes my senses were good enough to find it, it still had many of the sharingan in there. I borrowed one so I could see and once I could I found a small vault with sharingan, and it had your name on it, so I took them, because I needed them to destroy the other sharingan in the lab.

Where was this lab with sharingan at Itachi?-Kakashi asked in a serious tone once again

It was northwest of the village, but like I said I destroyed everything in there with my Amaterasu, it was too dangerous if it were to ever be found.

I see, well Itachi you have done another great service to the village, I say we try to convince the people that you are on our side, Anbu go out and gather the villagers for a special announcement.-Kakashi said happily

Consider it done lord hokage.-said an anbu who was nowhere to be seen.
