AN: I am extremely pleased with the views, votes, and praise for this story so far! I cannot believe how big of a following that it has gotten in such a short time and I am beyond thrilled. As I promised, here is the next chapter. I cannot wait to hear what everyone thinks...

Tom sighed and put his cellphone in his pocket as he walked to his open hotel room door and out into the hallway. He looked into the neighboring hotel room to see Ann as she looked through her suitcase, still dressed in her pajamas. He walked forward and leaned on the door frame and watched as Ann rummaged through her belongings with increasing speed. The longer she looked through her things, the more upset she became and he noticed tears begin to run down her face.

"Ann?" he questioned softly, when she suddenly dropped to the floor and covered her face with her hands. He rushed to meet her, standing on his knees, and wrapped his arms tightly around her. He felt her clutch tightly to his shirt, her body shaking like a leaf.

"Shh, it's alright, you're okay." Tom cooed, his voice quiet against her ear as he began to rock her back and forth. "It's okay Ann, it's okay."

Slowly Ann began to relax, the longer that he held her. Her sobbing slowly came to a stop and her breathing became more even, but she did not let go from Tom's shirt, reveling in it's comforting grip.

When Tom felt like Ann had calmed down enough, he leaned back so he could see her face and gently wiped leftover tears from her cheeks. "What upset you?" he asked quietly.

Ann shook her head and would not meet his eyes. "Ann, what's wrong?"

When she spoke, her voice was small, "H-he tore up my clothes, my phone's screen is smashed. John made sure to leave his warning."

Tom furrowed his brow, "Warning?"

Ann pulled away and sat back on her knees, her legs resting underneath her. Tom did the same and gave her some space. "What warning Ann?"

"He wants me to know that this isn't over. That he's going to fight all of this, even though he's the one that caused me harm." She had begun to cry again as she spoke and Tom let out a long breath before he looked up at the clock on the wall. It was nine forty three.

I may have enough time before I have to catch my flight, he thought to himself.

"Hey." He soothed, "It's alright." He leaned forward and tilted her face up so he could meet her hazel eyes and wiped a stray tear away with his thumb. "Listen, let me call my agent and I will help you get back on your feet. My flight doesn't leave until this afternoon and if I have to, I will book a different flight okay?"

Ann's eyes widened at his words. "Y-you don't have to do that Tom. I don't want you to go out of your way for me."

Tom let go of Ann's chin and smiled at her. "I know that I don't have to, but I feel responsible for you and I want to help you. But if you want to go your own way, and I just call someone that you want me to contact, I can do that too."

He watched as Ann cast her eyes downward in thought. It was a lot to put on her mind and Tom knew that. After all, he was practical a stranger to her even though he had taken her in the night before so she had a place to sleep.

This is a wonderful offer from him . . . Tom doesn't have to do this, and yet here he is, offering to help me out. I don't want to seem rude, I would regret it forever, Ann thought to herself as she played with the hem of her shirt, lost in thought.

Finally, she took a deep breath and looked up to meet Tom's eyes and could not help the small natural smile that came to her at seeing the hopeful look on his face. "Alright," she said, "What do you want to do?" she asked.
