Tom awoke from his pleasant dream due to the glaring sunshine as it filtered into Ann's bedroom window. He squinted his eyes open to peer down at her and was happy to see that she was still fast asleep tucked into his side, curled in a ball. An entire night without any nightmares... I wonder how she will fair after I leave tomorrow. Slowly he removed his arm from beneath her head, then sat up and stretched, feeling a satisfying pull in his back, before he stood up. I made sure to get everything that I needed while we were at the store yesterday. This morning I shall make her a full English breakfast.

He quietly walked out of the bedroom and shut the door behind him as silent as he could before he made his way to the kitchen to start preparing the food. He started with putting a small can of baked beans into a pot before he put them on a back burner of the stove, then he quickly sliced a tomato and reached for the pre chopped onion and put them both in a small skillet to sizzle. Then he quickly cut up a couple of potatoes and put them in a skillet of their own so he could start on the bacon and sausage.

The smell of bacon and sausage woke Ann from her peaceful sleep. She rolled onto her back and rubbed her eyes, knowing that Tom was in the kitchen cooking up a storm. He did say something about wanting to fix the breakfast he promised. Ann sighed and sat up in bed as she stretched her arms above her head before she let herself plop back down on her back. It was then that she heard a soft rap on the bedroom door before it opened.

"Are you awake Ann?" Tom asked.

"I am," she replied with a smile, but made no motion to move from her spot.

Tom chuckled as he leaned against the doorway. "It doesn't look like you are."

Ann chuckled, still staring at the ceiling. "I started to get up, but let myself lay back down. The food smells amazing though."

"Would you prefer to eat in here?" he asked honestly. "I could make up a plate for you."

Ann propped up on her elbows and shook her head. "You don't have to do that. I'll get up and come into the kitchen."

A smile lit up Tom's face at the sight of her disheveled hair as she laid there in her night shirt and shorts. Beautiful. "Are you sure?" he asked. "It wouldn't be a bother."

She laughed and nodded. "Yes Tom, I'm sure. Go ahead and go back in the kitchen and I will join you shortly."

Tom nodded and turned and left the bedroom. Ann sat up and forced herself to get out of bed, then stretched again before she went into the restroom and quickly went through her morning routine. When she walked into the hallway the smell of the awaiting food strengthened and made her mouth water as she quickly made her way into the kitchen.

The spread of food that sat on the kitchen table made Ann's eyes widen. "There's so much food!" she exclaimed.

Turning from his place at the counter, Tom chuckled. "I promised you a full english breakfast, so I made sure to pull all of the stops. Go ahead and sit down and I will have your tea ready soon."

Ann smirked as she did as she was told and sat at the table in front of an empty plate. "With you catering me like this, how will I ever let you leave tomorrow?" she asked, her voice saddened.

"Don't worry about tomorrow," he replied softly as he sat a hot mug of tea next to her plate, "Focus on today."

She watched as he grabbed her plate and put a little bit of everything onto it, then sat it in front of her once more before he did the same for his own plate. "I'll do my best," she replied as Tom sat down adjacent to her and began to eat, so she grabbed her fork and did the same.
