Tom:

Ann, I apologize for not contacting you sooner. I am in the middle of filming here in London and it has been quite busy. I am happy to hear that you are back at home and safe. I was notified of John's verdict and I hope that he keeps to its parameters. I hope to hear from you again soon.

Ann smiled at the text on her phone as she sat at her desk. Her work was letting her work from home, since all she did was write articles for the local magazine in her city, and it was nice to be able to sit at home and work on her laptop. Although she was currently constantly distracted by re-reading the text he'd sent her almost two days ago.

Should I reply back? she thought, Should I strike up a conversation? He did say that he was busy...

She sighed and sat back in her chair, causing it to roll back a few inches as she continued to stare at the text on the screen of her phone. The longer she looked at it, the more torn she became as she audibly growled and tossed it onto her desk and rolled back up to her laptop to try and concentrate on her latest article. It needed to be finished by the end of the week, and Ann knew that she would not make the deadline if she kept thinking about him.

Her nails tapped upon her keyboard as the article came to life in Ann's mind. She was half way through her review of the latest film to hit theaters when she heard her phone ping with the sound of receiving a text. Ann decided to do her best to ignore it as she shook her head and continued to type, but her phone persisted as it pinged again.

Biting the bullet, Ann finished the sentence that she was working on and grabbed her phone and lit up the screen to check the messages, when she felt a lump form in her throat. It was Tom...

Tom:

Hey Ann, it's Tom. I haven't heard back from you and I am just wondering if you are okay

I don't mean to bother you, and I hope that I am not doing so... but I am worried if you are alright since I haven't heard back from you. Please text me.

Ann could not believe it as she leaned forward in her chair. He's worried about me? she pondered.

She took a couple deep breaths before she quickly thought of something to type back to him, surprised that he was even taking the time to check in on her.

Ann:

Hi Tom, I am sorry that I haven't texted you back. I didn't really know what to say back to you, but I am alright. I'm working from home right now.

She did not even get to put her phone back down on her desk before it pinged again, in response.

Tom:

It's good to hear from you! I am happy to see that you are doing alright and are back to working. What is it that you do that makes you be able to work from home?

A smile came to Ann's face as she read his text and quickly replied back to him.

Ann:

I work for a local magazine writing articles. Sometimes it's a feature or editorial, other times like today, it's a simple review on the newest film to hit theaters. I can work from anywhere if I have internet.
