I'd seen Grayson pissed before, but I guess I never saw the side to him where he's pissed at me and not at the person hurting me. I didn't understand why he was pissed off, maybe because I hadn't told him the truth.

"Grayson..." I trail off as he stands between Christian and I and throws me behind his back.

"So whose this fucker? Is this the guy that's been threatening you?!" He says, jabbing Christian in the chest.

"Grayson please, calm down!" I say holding onto his other arm. In that moment, I was slightly scared of Grayson's capabilities. The look in his eyes was as though he could murder Christian for even talking to me. Christian looked slightly startled too.

"Calm down? Why should I?! You've been threatened multiple times and have been completely consumed by fear because of it and then suddenly this fucker shows up out of nowhere and knows you! He looks guilty as shit and I'm not letting him hurt you" he snaps. I jump from how menacing and cold his voice has become. This version of Grayson was dark.

"Hey man come on back off, I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just talking to my sister" Christian replies, holding his hands up innocently.

"Sister?!" Grayson looks back at me, hurt in his eyes. I meet his gaze.

"Yes Grayson, Christian is my brother" Grayson remains in his powerful stance, "remember when I told you I was going to see some distant family after I saw you at the park the other day?" I began. He turns to face me properly, his posture begins to sink back to his normal confident stance. He nods in response. "I was going to meet Christian. We hadn't seen each other for a few years because of some circumstances I told you I can't talk about. But now he's moved here and wants to be some part of my life. I'm sorry I didn't tell you" I explain.

"But how do you not know that this guy is the one threatening you?" Grayson asks.

"I don't, but I have a gut feeling he isn't" Grayson shakes his head and pulls me into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry for overreacting" he whispers into my ear. I smile into his shoulder and pull him tightly by his neck.

"It's okay, nothing you haven't done before" I reply.

Grayson pulls back and faces Christian. "I don't trust you, but for Jordyn's sake and you being her brother an all; I'm sorry for almost slamming you into lockers and beating you senseless" he says with a matter-of-fact tone.

Christian gulps anxiously, "no worries man, glad to know sis has someone watching out for her"

I clap my hands together, I just wanted this awkward situation to be over "so let's get back to lunch shall we! I'm starving" me and the two boys walk back into the canteen without saying a word to one another.

"So... you have a brother?" Grayson asks as we walk in the direction of his house as he'd invited me to dinner for that night. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I didn't see Christian again after the whole escapade of Grayson almost beating the shit out of him for being associated with me.

"Yeah, I have a brother"

Grayson sighs, "were you ever going to tell me?" The truth was I was not entirely sure. I was not exactly expecting Christian to waltz into my life like nothing had gone on for the last three years. I recognised that Grayson probably is someone I could confide in but I didn't want to put the risk on him getting hurt anymore than he gets hurt by his own past.

"I don't know, you know better than anyone how chaotic my life can be. Besides, I didn't want to bother you with my problems anymore than I already do" I say, lowering my head with shame.
