Opposites Attract

The Universe

It was a bright Saturday morning and Iris woke up feeling great. Her dad was not home, as usual, he was probably off somewhere working or drinking. After fixing up her breakfast she decided to go on a run she threw on shorts and a tank top and headed out the door.

                                                                                          Meanwhile 

Barry woke up and headed downstairs his foster parents were already up and were making breakfast

"good morning Barry!"  His foster mom Allison said with a bright smile on her face.

"morning," he said as he grabbed a banana

"don't you want breakfast?"

 "I made bacon,"  said his foster dad Bill. Barry shook his head 

"I am just going to go on a run" he replied as he put on his shoes and headed out the door. He started to run down a path. Running helped clear his mind, he liked his foster parents and all but he just couldn't forget about his real parents. They died in a car crash when he was 13. After that, he bounced around a few foster homes until he landed in this one in Central City. He sighed and looked ahead and he saw 

"Iris!" He said out loud. Iris looked up 

"Hey Barry," She said shyly

"um you run around here a lot," Barry said trying to make conversation.

"yeah, I do suppose  we never ran into each what a coincidence!" 

"Yeah that's wired," Barry said

"so wired" For a few seconds that felt like an eternity the two didn't say anything.

"well I gotta run I will see you on Monday," Iris said as she put back in her earbuds and smiled. Barry took a moment to look at her she had never been that exposed she normally wore sweaters and stuff. At least he thought.

It was Monday and Barry and Iris were sitting in chem.

"alright class it is time to assign partners for the year" Said Mr.anderson their teacher.

"Oliver and Cisco, Sara and Caitlin, Laural, Eddie, Tonny, Linda, Barry, Iris, Jesse, Cally,.Iris looks at her desk and mutters "seriously"

"Okay guys those are you, partners".

Iris walks over to Barrys table and says

"hey"

" whoa lucky right looks like the universe wants us to be friends"

"Yeah I guess," Iris says trying to change the conversation

"uh anyway we gotta take some notes"

"I mean it just crazy right I walk into you singing and running," He says with an idiotic grin trying to be funny"Iris glares at him 

"can you just shut up and work"Barry smiles like his mission all along was to annoy her

Mission accomplished

After school Iris heads down to the big belly burger. She puts on her uniform in one of the bathrooms and grabs a tray. She just started working here a week ago and so far it was going good. She found out that there was a coffee shop nearby and after her shift, she would go there.  Her schedule was wakeup, get ready for school, go to school( sometimes after school she would tutor Barry) go to big belly burger, study at jitters and head home.

"Hi can I take your ord- She froze it was barry, Cisco, Oliver, and Eddie 

"hey Iris," Barry said "we just will take the milkshakes"

"got it I will be back soon"

A few minutes later Iris arrived with the tray of vanilla milkshakes and set them down. She was about to turn around when Barry called out

"The universe is sending us a message Iris!" Iris just shrugged it off but little did she know that it was.
