Untitled Part 12

"You can just leave me here."

Their classmate who is currently stuck in a big rock says as he begins to lose some faith that he'll survive. They are about to graduate and this kind of thing happens suddenly.

Nine checks everyone, it's been hours since the last time the voice from above  was heard.

"Why are they so slow!? Fuck!"

Some voices around, yelps and cries. Nine sighs it'll not be too easy, this cave is not a walk along cave but there's atleast three stations that you need to go down and when the stones rolled due to the movement of Earth the station 1 and 2 are closed they need to do some digging. Of course those who are in the first 2 stations are going to be rescued first.

"He is starting to get fever!"

"It's normal, he has close wounds. Come help me here." The boys started to crawl a little, when they heard something crack.

"Don't move!!"

Nine shouted.

"It's an aftershock! Stay still."

He felt a little dizzy after saying that but when the movement stops they still didn't move. He researches these kinds of situation back when he is in 3rd year when he got bored solving their takehome exams, when he got tired in tissues and body compositions never thought that he'll experience it one day. They said that caves are more safe than the outer corner of the earth because you'll feel less of the earthquake and some says it's more dangerous just like what happened in the miners who got trapped. But mining and these kinds of caves are different. He doesn't know! He can't think straight now. He needs to calm down.

"Let's not move any further or it'll be worst." Pavel speaks at the corner.

The batteries of their phone died down they are starting to feel sleepy. What time is it? It's been hours. Days? Probably.

"The oxygen level is dropping by 21%..."

He murmurs. Pavel and Dome look at him shaking their head as a signal not to talk about it, in their mind they don't want people to panic. If it went down to 15% below they will be in great danger. When the last hope of light died down darkness surrounded their area. People are quite all they hear are some machines working to do some digging. It's stops for awhile when the aftershock happens but maybe after quite some time starts again.

They are losing energy since their body hasn't taken up some food and drinks for a long time, it's also started to have foul smell because of the decomposed body... It's dangerous but they need to hang on.

It's been day 2! Everyone is starting to panic as to knowing their loved ones are still stuck inside the cave. This is one of the strongest cave and they didn't know that there will be a possibility that this will be wrecked.

They communicated in the inns and travel agencies to get the name of those that have itenirary for today at the cave, some of them doesn't have the complete name because they only have one representative per group but with the help of SNS, they gathered the possibilty of people insed. Some posted pictures in facebook before going in the cave which is a great help form them. Now they have estimated that more than 80 people are still stucked inside.

"Why don't you take a rest, Doctor?"

A nurse in uniform approaches Chen who is currently massaging his temple. It's been two days but all he had is a couple hours of sleep. He is not a Doctor yet but even if how many times he said that to others they kept on calling him a Doctor because of the skills he showed in the past days.

"I will when needed."

The nurse shakes her head as she walks away from him observing that he won't listen to her. The three classmates of him are taking their breaks, they are all exhausted because there are atleast 100 from inside of the cave who needed first aid. But until now the reason why he is here are yet to come.

"Doctor..."

He is awaken from his daydreaming when he heard a voice, He looks up and see a nurse assisting a volunteer.

"I just need some painkillers. No need for stuff."

As he observes the nurse's reaction he easily understand that this is another case of stubborn volunteers who got hurt but doesn't want to stop working.

He asks the guy to sit down and he follows. The volunteer notices how serious the guy is when treating his small wound on his feet.

"Doctor... Are you waiting for someone?"

Chen looks up to see the guy's reaction. He throws him a questioning look, "It's just that I observe you keep on looking at the cave's entrance from time to time. I'm just curious."

Chen just smiled a bit. "Great observation sir, I am indeed waiting for someone."

"Wow. Is she a nurse? Or a volunteer also? Where is she? "

"He is still inside. No confirmation yet but I feel that he is."

The volunteer stops on track. It's a "he" that he talks about, the Doctor doesn't seems like he is wrong about what he said especially that he mentioned it twice. He gulps. He is not against about it or anything it's just that he is embarrassed that he talks about it as if he is waiting for a "she" POV.

"Why aren't you panicking?"

"I don't know. Maybe I'm just used to."

"Boyfriend?"

The volunteer looks at him intently when he doesn't reply, the way he compresses his lips he instantly confirmed what he is thinking.

"Do you know why I volunteered to be here?"

He got the Doctor's attention, he finished cleaning his wound and putting gauze on it.

"My brother is one of the survivor in where he is trapped inside a cave for a month. When they all survive I thank all the rescuers and one word really got me into it. We just did something someone will also do if they do have knowledge about it. I question myself, if I were in their position will I also do that? I don't think so. And years later I found myself engaging in it because the more I question myself the more I am restoring faith in humanity. "

The Doctor is dumbfounded. They only knew each other for more than 20 minutes but the guy is sharing his experience to him this early, he doesn't even know his name.

"Like you Doctor, you are sharing your expertise in this area and helping others. What is his name?"

"Nine."

After he said that the volunteer stood up and give thanks to him.

"Okay! I'll get Nine for you. Because I don' t believe you're not panicking right now, I've been in your position before and I died a little every day in not knowing whether my brother is alive or not."

That's all he said and the volunteer left him there alone and confused without saying anything.

He checks his heart, does it really not aching? He feels a bit of hurt but he doesn't quite sure if it's because of worrying or because he is up approximately for two days now.

"Chen..."

He looks up again and saw Title standing there looking at him as he throws him a question.

"Why are you crying?"
