I humbly present you the very first collab in this portfolio (but hopefully not the last xD)! Many, many, many thanks to the amazing enchanta-, the woman, the myth, the designer!
We agreed on doing a base and a finish each, and here are the results!
When I was making the base my main guide was "what could I make that my fellow designer could have fun doing?", but I never even imagined she'd come up with something so pretty! The color scheme, the characters, the text effect... And she even made a Netflix cover with a mini story! It. Is. Beautiful. I feel like a kid on a Christmas morning, I'm unwrapping the gift, yet there is no end to the presents inside!
I have a couple of things to say about this set. First off, the base Angelina provided me with was beautiful and a bit of challenge since I don't do a lot of spacey stuff and sci-fi. When I first saw the base, I thought of doing a grid of sorts (cause you know, nothing says sci-fi like a cool, hexagonal grid, am I right), something like "Guardians of the Galaxy" (that scene where they jump through space). I think I pulled it off okay, though there are still some areas that need more refining and fixing.
Also, the finish wasn't done in Photoshop. I switched to GIMP, so that was a challenge all in itself. I'm not going to mention a tiny mental breakdown that occured when the program shut down on its own before I managed to save the image. But regardless, I had loads of fun and I got to know my GIMP a bit better.
If you haven't already, please hop over to Angelina's profile and give her some love for being amazing!
What are your thoughts? :)
